Portrait & fashion photographer. Proud father of 2 cool young men. Oh Yes, I play with film cameras, trail run, hike & bike a LOT and friend to all cats.

This process was the final blow. I’ve voted Republican my entire voting career. Although I dislike many things the Democratic Party endorses, I’m voting straight party Democrats in the midterm.
@ianbremmer
Trump has become the laughing stock among world leaders. I know many will debate this point, but that is the message being sent. He's simply a Twitter bully.

OK, seriously...who cares that she's gay. Why is this an issue with the press any longer? I'd rather know that she has a good plan, has skills and knows how to lead.
Before Twitter dies I just want to make sure every one knows ... you are NOT a better photographer just because you own a Leica .... fight me 😉 Oh, and steel development reels are evil. There I said it.
I keep all my “active” film & street digital cameras in a case in my office. I rearranged a few today based on what I’m using and put a few in my “not currently using” closet. Here’s what I’m currently using or will be using soon. Photography is my drug of choice 😉
I have an issue! I like to test, but & use film cameras as a hobby. I now have over 250 different cameras organized. All work. I’ve tried the discipline of sticking to 1-2 cameras but I’ve come to the realization that part of the hobby for me is using different cameras & formats
Just for fun I enjoy learning who manufacture films. The bigs we know but I keep an inventory of others. I'm definitely in favor of repackaging / rebranding film, but I still like to know. Here's what I have. If you have any to add let me know and I'll build a database to share
Film photography can be expensive. Home developing & bulk loaded film will GREATLY reduce the cost. Intimidated? Don’t be, it’s super easy 😃

One of the problems being an avid photographer is that I go thru the world observing everything from the standpoint of what a scene would look like as a photo. I’m always looking. Do any of my other photographer friends do this?
@girlsreallyrule
Poor bubba .... felony conviction ... opps, can't own a gun, no voting, limited access to a decent job, insurance will be a bitch ... but hey, you got to sit in Speaker Pelosi's desk and become internet famous .... Karma is a bitch
OK, I've decided to "limit" my camera use to these 4. Normally I'm a next camera up shooter meaning my workflow & quality is all over the map. For a few months I plan to use a Mamiya6 (120), Pentax Auto 110 (toy camera), Leica M6 (35mm) & Olympus Stylus (P&S). Should be cool
Say hello to my little friend! After a couple of months at Leica for repairs & a CLA I have purchased my 1st Leica with a Summicron 35mm f/2 lens! I guess I’m a real photographer now 😉
Guess what I bought
@MidwestPhotoEx
today! I’m a studio Nikon user so I have all the lenses. I’ve always wanted a high end Nikon film camera

Don't forget Don couldn't buy off, mean tweet or bully Covid either. His & his administration's absolute mishandling of the pandemic has lead to so many needless deaths.
Hilarious …. at my studio decluttering sale today my last customer is a stripper who is getting into film photography. She asked if she could pay with cash. I said sure, but all the bills feel a bit sweaty 😬
Jackpot! A photography friend gifted me a box of assorted sized refrigerator stored rolled & bulk film. Different sizes & types. It’s going to be fun seeing what’s in the box!!
I've been testing
@kodak
Vision3 motion picture films. I thought I would write a thread on what I've learned so far, information about the film & clear confusion some may have about the film. OK? Here goes. As you know color 35mm film is getting hard to get & IMHO overpriced.
Home developing tip: before loading film on a plastic reel I clip the corners like this. I do this in the light if the leader is out or in the dark bag by feel if not. I've found this stops the corners of the film curling & getting caught in the reel grooves making loading easier
I judged a local camera club’s monthly photo contest. This month’s theme was “fashion”. One of the members knew I liked film photography so he gifted me a Minolta Hi-Matic, a Minolta 7s, a Konica C35 & 30+ rolls of expired film. Heaven!
If you're interested in home developing film some people think you need high priced or hard to find equipment. You don't. Here I'm heating up C-41 color developer stored in a plastic soda bottle and a bathroom sink using hot water. That's how I heat all my chemistry
Say hello to my new little friend! A Fuji Fujica GS645 that I bought from

. Loaded it with a red lol of

Ortho 80 & will shoot the roll ASAP. If the camera works I’ll take it for a day of

in Chicago on Friday!
OK, based on feedback today here's an updated list. Again, I LIKE repackaged film because it adds to what's available & raises interest thru cool marketing. However, I think everyone should know what they are buying so they can make informed decisions with their money.
My film photography friends will understand my anguish. I opened the back of a camera today to take out the film only to find I forgot to rewind the film. Total face palm. It's so 2020

It looks like a crime scene ... but, I just didn’t get the top fully sealed on my developing tank and blix leaked everywhere when I agitated the talk. Oh my
#filmphotography
Updated film manufacturer list with a few updates and a requested "notice" so people don't get bent out of shape if something is found to be inaccurate. As I've said previously I'm like repackaged film but like to know what the film is. Let me know of any changes or adds:
Decisions decisions…I have an opportunity to buy this mint Leica M6 with a Summicron 35mm lens. It’s in great shape (the attachment on the bottom is a removable tripod mount). Market but reasonable price in a personal sale. I’m VERY tempted
#filmphotography
Looks like my 35 to 120 backing paper roller mockup worked. 1st test roll was centered on the backing paper & using a 6x9 camera I have an 83mm pano! Fun
Fixed the small “hole” in the Fed4 curtain using Liquid Electrical Tape this evening. I’ll let it dry for 24 hrs before advancing the shutter but as of now it looks AOK!
#filmphotography
I was going thru my studio fridge & “found” a plastic bag that was hidden behind some sodas. It contained expired film I put there probably 1-2 yrs ago 😍
Went to
@robertscamera
Garage Sale this morning which is always fun. Came away with a sling bag, bulk roll of FP4, changing bag, 5 cameras, 3 lenses, a LabBox, a bunch of filters, a Minox & Paterson developing tank, some HP5+ & more. Total about $60! He SCORES! 😉

Garage Sale this morning. Not sure if any of the cameras work but if they don’t I’ll use them for practice to learn how to fix cameras. Lots of fun!
I shot a roll of
@HarmanPhoto
Phoenix 200 in my Nikon F4. 1st few shots at ISO 100 & the rest at 160. Moderately bright but somewhat overcast days. The roll was developed with FPP ECN-2. Here are the results of the ISO 100 shots. This is the ISO I prefer & will use going forward.
Well, in a bit of exciting news, I am now signed with a talent agency for my fashion / portrait photography business. I'll still focus on my local business but it opens up opportunities both locally and outside of my market that I wouldn't normally be exposed. Kind of giggly.
Finished up a roll of Fomapan 400 in my Leica M6 today using a red filter. The 1st 1/2 of the roll yesterday with a yellow filter. Interested in seeing the results
Yesterday a photographer moving out of town gifted a box of darkroom equipment. Included was an old, unopened bottle of Rodinal. I use Rodinal regularly & I bet this bottle is still good. YES!
I “think” I patched the pinholes in the bellows of my Fujica GS645. I covered the holes with Liquid Electrical Tape & checked. Holes looked sealed. I opened & closed the lens a few times & checked again. Looked OK. I’ll test a roll to see if it worked if even temporarily 😃
I hate doing this but again tonight I unfollowed 2 photographers I respect. Alas their feed has become nothing but NFT self promotion & retweeting others who lavish praise. I’ve said it once & I’ll say it again I’m stoked NFTs have opened a new $ stream for artists, but OMG
For those of you interested I “mocked up” a DIY 35mm film to 120 backing paper roller from styrene plastic. This is to test if I could make the process semi-foolproof & easy in a black bag. Here’s version 1. It works well but I plan to make an improved version next! Video soon 😃
The

Garage Sale is happening right now. I came early so got a nice haul. No clue if the cameras work but the expired film will be sweet. The entire haul for just over $50 😃
