Create a processing centre in France. Allow people to claim asylum from outside the UK... Go after the people smugglers. Process claims in a fair and timely manner... That will reduce the small boats. It would be cheaper, more effective... And most importantly wouldn't be illegal

Liz Truss tells the Today programme she was "wrong" to back Remain in the 2016 EU referendum
"I was wrong, I'm prepared to admit I was wrong, some of the portents of doom didn't happen" the foreign secretary says.
I wonder which portents of doom she is referring to? Any ideas?

We removed 76, 000 illegal immigrants under the Dublin convention when we were part of the EU. We're not part of the EU anymore so we can't use Dublin. France can use Dublin because they're still in the EU. Does that help?

There's something else too... I suspect PPE contracts were discussed over WhatsApp which would be at the least, a breach of the ministerial code and propriety. It would also implicate the whole of the then cabinet.
