Not over the fact I won't see these at work on Monday- will miss them so much. Had the pleasure of dispatching & split/ attaching them at LBG, the latter of which was SO fun 🥰 They're some of the most prominent trains from my childhood, and S London won't be the same without em.
To everyone that likes seeing special liveried trains- don't let any amount of negativity tell you that you shouldn't. Whether that's a pride train, a wrap for mental health causes, a livery for charity...they bring joy to people, and raise awareness of important issues. 1/?
So it's official! I'm hanging up my dispatch bat at the end of July to become a guard at Selhurst depot. Over the moon that not only am I staying with Southern, but my hard work is paying off and I'm progressing like I always wanted to. Feeling very lucky atm ♥️🚇

I almost forgot I could post this now, as it was a surprise, but the person in question has it now! Cute lil 377-esque cake I made for a first year driving anniversary. Could have done with a bit more time on it, so please don't hold me to any design errors 😁🚇💚💛
Yaaaaay. As of yesterday, I'm a qualified guard/ conductor/ door wrangler (for the second time)! Route learning and rules assessments- done ✅ An unrelated pic of Matlock looking beautiful, and my favourite chonky signal button.
- Please keep this post kind 😬
- This train was part of a wider pride campaign a couple of years ago
- It was literally part of my job to design it 😂
- The act of being 'offended' by it is a personal choice. Queer people exist, have always existed, and always will ❤️🌈
Just a lil bit of news...in October I'll be swapping green 171s for purple 170s (and 15Xs) and joining
@EastMidRailway
as Senior Conductor at Nottingham 😊 Will be hecking sad to leave Southern, but am so excited for my new adventure and life 'oop North 💚💜🚉
This is very exciting. Sugarloaf Station has been ticked! ✅ The guard said it was the first time he has ever stopped there. It's the most geographically remote station in Wales in theory. Now we're doing a ~6 mile walk to Llanwrtyd Wells 🏞️
Saw this beautiful beast at Liverpool Lime Street today 🚉🚄 Operating as 5Q13, 805004 is seen on platform 6 awaiting its departure to London Euston on a test run. At some point??? these will come into service with Avanti West Coast. The seats look Lumo-y!
Ok this has gone a bit mad. Just some clarifications:
- This was meant to be lighthearted. Mr Robinson (and anyone else) can choose to take or not take whatever train they please
- My pride train is out there to bring joy & help people feel accepted
In other fabulous news, I'm in the process of passing out to split & attach class 455s, which is very exciting. If anyone is interested in a thread on how this is done on these units, please shout 🚉🚇
I may be based at Selhurst when I start, but as I'm training at Hove everyone else will be signing these beauties, so I was able to (partly) work a double Seaford earlier with my fellow trainnes! Ahhh love these things ❤️ Bucket list item complete.

This is a good 15 mins or so away from being deleted because it's gone waaaaay out of my control and it's stressing me out 😭😅 Sorry in advance if I do have to delete it, it's been fun folks
Deleted last tweet because I just got a video of the actual PoSA working at City Thameslink! Great explanation in the thread below of what's happening in the Thameslink Core right now 👇🚉
We’re really sorry for the ongoing disruption to
@TLRailUK
services north and south of London, owing to a problem with our signalling equipment between City Thameslink and Farringdon. Here’s what’s going on.../ /1
Whilst I feel for all the Purple One lovers out there, this is undoubtedly a win for Strawberry Delight and Orange Creme fans like myself. Merry Christmas all 🎄💝

Me on the way back from Crewe today: dispatches my train at 12 stations; does luggage & bike tetris to make sure everyone fits on train safely; does a litter run; helps people off the train with heavy luggage; fixes Railcard app issue; helps someone who got on the wrong train...
So let's spread the love, and keep celebrating fantastic and interesting designs on our trains. They don't take away from anything else, and I can't wait to see even more campaigns in the future!
What special liveried trains DON'T claim to do:
- Fix all issues relating to that topic
- Suggest that there's nothing more that can be done within a given company to improve issues surrounding that topic
- Declare that particular subject to be more important than others
What they DO often achieve:
- Making people happy when they see a train that represents something that affects them
- Raising awareness for charities and causes
- Showcasing a unique design, which people sometimes wish to actively seek out for hobby purposes, which is fantastic!
We are now the proud parents of........this 🚇🚉🚝 378 Capitalstar cab mockup by Bombardier, unique as heck, solid resin, looks like the real thing, weighs a tonne. Best impromptu (joint) purchase I've ever made 😍🥰
@mrdannyp
Couldn't get my hands on the usual 871g tin this year, so the 600g box will have to do. Pointless to compare overall quantity (65 in this compared to 92 in the larger tin) but the ratios are certainly interesting. Whoever decided there should be this many toffee fingers is wrong!
Today is not a nice day in our household. Marco, our beautiful, fat orange boi, died suddenly and unexpectedly this morning, thankfully in his happy place with everyone at home. Can't comprehend that he won't be having his dinner this evening and snoozing in a cosy spot
The important thing to remember, is that an effort was made.
My theory is that a class 378 managed to have a day trip to the Horniman Museum without anyone noticing 🏛️🧳🚉🏃
Finally ticking off two of these bad boiz before they leave GN this month. Absolutely loving pelting up the ECML at 100mph with the windows open. Such a joy 😍🚉🚇
@mrdannyp
OMG. Had absolutely no idea a 171 existed in N gauge...was preparing to buy a 170 on eBay and get it repainted/vinyled into Southern livery. But lo and behold, the stars aligned & in Geoffrey Allison of Worksop, for £40, were these bodies just asking to be mine 😍

Trying not to miss my Uckfields too much already, and failing miserably 💔 Taken on my final trips down there on Wednesday. Will always be such a special line to me
Had a great view of 1Z43 at Radford Junction earlier as it made its way towards Sheffield via Beighton, and eventually down to London. Looked very nice, especially the Midland Mainline power car! Hope everyone who went had a great day 🚅🚇🚉
Not taken during safety crit duties.
Sorry in advance to any drivers who see this and need a new pair of trousers just from watching it. Taken on the Nottingham-Leicester line, which I'm route learning 😍 Non active cab, no safety critical duties, etc.
FINALLY worked a train with the man, the myth, the legend...
@lateturn
. Unfortunately no time for much aside from a selfie but let's hope we can get on a Liverpool together one day ✌🏻
Unfortunate timing- silly temperatures today and the 230s don't have air con, but regardless it was lovely exploring the Marston Vale Bedford-Bletchley line today after route-learning 😍🚉 Will do a proper day out alighting at some of the stations when a full service resumes 💚
In my typical late style, (it was yesterday)...feeling grateful for 2 years with this wonderful beardy lad, and the fact that we can see eachother every day & both be at EMR, compared to this time last year when we were still hundreds of miles apart 🚂 Proud of all we've achieved
Now is a great time to reveal we have fostered 2 black kittens (bonded siblings) who are the most ✨beautiful✨ voids and have enjoyed being indoors & cosy for the first time in their lives 🐈⬛🖤 They have received many smooches on their little heads
I didn't really fancy doxing us while we were staying there lol, so now we've all left, I wanted to share how wonderful our stay was at
@BucknellStation
on the Heart Of Wales line last weekend 🥰🏞️ This beautiful building is now a private residence with accomodation next door.
What a cool day yesterday 🤩 Was fantastic to tick off some extremely rare track too, including the Metropolitan curve (linking Blackfriars to Cannon Street), the 'Eurostar flyover' at Nine Elms, and some fun goods lines North of the river.
Hey old friend, thanks for reminding me that things are ok in times of change. And when the future seems a little chaotic, 155 helps me remember that I'm allowed to fall back to past achievements and be proud of what's been, in order to feel positive about what's to come 🌈🚇
Had a bit of a wait at Ashurst while we waited for the Pilotman to arrive on the train coming down (signal failure in single line section after Hever); tried to leave
@mrdannyp
behind but he was too quick 🚉😉

Today has been one of those days where I feel very lucky to do my job! Beautiful endless Lincolnshire skies this morning and 12 mins dwell time at Boston to admire the views. Was so dreamy to be working one of my ex Southern units down to Skegness too 🚄🚇🌇
Not today, not ever, and not on my station, will I let trans peoples' safety & comfort be compromised by a hateful agenda that claims to want to protect women's rights but does the absolute opposite. Felt good to throw these in the bin 🚮🗑️

We didn't set out to create a railway shrine in our hallway, but here we are 🚂
@mrdannyp
had an A Stock luggage rack, and I bought a BR mirror from an antiques shop a while back. We cleaned both up & they are looking like an absolute snack. Spot the 'Private' sign

The day has finally arrived! I'm unreasonably excited to be calling at Elton & Orston today for the first time in this job. If anyone gets on/off, I'll eat my hat (diagram).
So happy that I caught the 'nuclear train' at Ashford today!!! Saw it waiting at the junction from the Dungeness branch when I whizzed past at Appledore, so after some quick RTT-ing I realised it would be a perfect opportunity 😍🚉☢️ 88001 + 68004
@DRSgovuk
Places I didn't expect to be today... Failed freight train at Meir Tunnel means the job was stopped on the way back from Crewe. Passing back on Avanti as EMR traincrew is a new one for me 😂 Photo of my unit taken from a position of safety with no train movements nearby.
Possibly one for

. Fabulous sign found under the railway bridges at Selhurst station. Built in 1939-42 and used as electricity showrooms/ offices, Electric House still stands tall & proud, but has been converted for 21st century use and is now a University Campus.
Route-learning on the simply beautiful East Grinstead and Uckfield lines today.
(Photos not taken from an active cab, and not undertaking any safety-critical duties).

Anyone that has messaged me after a certain tweet went a bit mad- I'll reply tomorrow, promise, just taking some time & also had a crazy shift this evening. Thanks for all the love ❤️

for dinner this evening with my favourite human 🥰 A spontaneous booking, but loved every second of it. Next time I'll try and book when I'm not working the next day, so we can sample the Bessemer Arms pub at Sheffield Park. More pics ⬇️
What are the chances 🤩 Ran into our lovely friend (or rather, he ran towards us)
@Coastway_Will
at East Croydon! We're on our way to do some geocaching on c2c while he's heading towards London to see something exciting 🚄
Going to be a busy late shift at The Bridge today. Victoria is closed so we have all of their trains, as well as our semi-normal Saturday service. Plus pubs are open... Wish us luck! 🚇🚆🚄🚉
Another spot of route learning between ECR & LBG today. Accidentally turned out to be a very pretty photo 🌇 Nice end to a mad week... 2.5 hours stuck at Crowborough yesterday was quite a challenge, as well as speed restrictions and flooding on Wednesday. All good practice.
Storm Dudley on 18/02/22, as well as putting an end to the train service in most of the South East, brought down trees either side of my train on the mostly-single-line Uckfield branch, leaving us stranded at Crowborough. We were there for 3+ hours, and they had to...
A story of my relationship with my sweet boy BooBoo, the Uckfield former signal box cat, in 4 parts. I will do ANYTHING for him; I'm like putty in his paws 🐱😽🐈⬛
Unusual bit of 171-age down to East Grinstead last night 🚇 ECS down there after terminating at Hurst Green coming up from Uckfield. New footbridge works can be seen the background too! 😍 Sleep well little train
