This is the way. IBC is headed for a relayerless future. Brings the total cost of maintenance of the system way down when combined with standardization across implementations. Cost of maintenance will play a major part in determining a long term winner in interop.

This is a common misconception about IBC and the IBC client definition. IBC clients can be defined as arbitrary verification logic. This means that a rollup pre confirmation AVS can be an IBC client. IBC has had modular security from day one.

Thereโ€™s some confusion here. IBC is a means for an entity to establish authenticated and direct communication with a blockchain. Itโ€™s a transport protocol and not opinionated on what app level protocols run over it (e.g. SWIFT). SWIFT also runs over TCP/IP for example.
