Good signal that more platforms are hopping on the horizontal scaling train. Just know, that horizontal scaling is only as sustainable as your consensus mechanism. Avalanche consensus has no cap on validators while classical (used by every PoS chain besides AVAX) does. #Subnets

Babylon uses a time-locked self-custodial vault where a BTC holder stakes their assets on the Bitcoin blockchain for a chosen period of time. Only the private key of the BTC holder can be used to retrieve the asset.

Why @cosmos and IBC? Babylon can aggregate and communicate messages and arbitrary data between Bitcoin and other blockchains via IBC. IBC-enabled chains can send important transactions and timestamping data from one chain to another by default.

TLDR: Babylon is a security and aggregation layer between any PoS chain and Bitcoin that enables BTC staking. The staked BTC remains on Bitcoin while Babylon uses their in house protocols to translate the staked asset and delegate Bitcoin security to other networks

Babylon's timestamping protocol allows PoS Blockchains to publish arbitrary data and communicate with Bitcoin and retrieve timestamps that can be used to synchronize networks receiving security via BTC staking to the Bitcoin blockchain.

By leveraging IBC, Babylon can aggregate checkpoints of important transactions from any IBC-enabled chain and use cryptography to put them on Bitcoin. Integration is as simple as opening an IBC connection with Babylon and having validators run some light modules.
