Spot the difference! One of these toothpaste tubes is "fake" the other one is the real Colgate. Can you tell which one is real? Be careful, there is a rise in the peddling of counterfeit goods in Zimbabwe. It's not easy to tell the difference between real & fake.
A lot of people mocking and scoffing at the govt and Met dpt over Cyclone Freddy. These jokes hopefully don't mean people will not take the govt seriously when it issues a future warning. It's important to always heed these warnings even when "nothing" happens.

In the UK doing a name-search while forming a company is free and the result is instant no need to provide multiple bizarre sounding names and paying US$5 and waiting days just to get a confirmation of the name like we do in Zimbabwe. Why is it so hard to form a company here?

A 210-litre freezer costs between US$300

About 2 months ago we warned that rentals were now unsustainable given pple's incomes. We are seeing landlords struggling to find paying tenants these days. Yet most of them continue to demand obscene rentals. This 3 bedroomed house in Glenlorne is going for US$1000. Yay or nay!
Prices of most grocery items are falling in USD terms. Cooking oil is now selling for as little as US$3.00 per 2l in Mbare tuckshops. The last time we saw this prices was about two years ago during the pandemic.

There is a reason why they say the customer is king. Business 101 explains that a business has various stakeholders, and it's considered good business to always communicate with all these effectively and in a timely manner. That's basic business management.

The Zimbabwean govt is at it again! The govt has threatened to ban foreign currency again with the RBZ governor seemingly in agreement. So we continue to go in circles. This is one reason a large segment of pple in Zimbabwe don't put their money in banks.

This feels a little like a missed opportunity. This QR code could have been used to transparently trace each batch of gold backing a given note for example.
We should all be inspired by Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) student Nosipho Ngidi who recently graduated. She was a well-known "jiggies" seller who sold snacks to supplement her income. As a nod to her profession, she went on stage with her wares.

Charging US$170 for passports is hopelessly shortsighted given how remittances are helping Zimbabwe. In SA the fee is abt US$65, Zambia abt US$20, Botswana abt US$20. Underutilised labour is our biggest resource. It should be unlocked officially instead of being punished.
Did you know, Zimbabwe's bearer's cheques were introduced under the guise that they were a temporary solution to the cash problem back then. Just like it has done many times since then, the RBZ lied, they only fell into disuse after Operation Sunrise.
