Just completed the series Rise of the Ottoman Empire on Netflix. They depict this scene in the show. They also give a great visual of how the city looked.
There is no concrete evidence to suggest that Alexander the Great was gay. While he had a close relationship with his friend and companion Hephaestion, their bond was primarily seen as a deep friendship and camaraderie rather than a romantic or sexual relationship.

I noticed other things that didn’t really add up or make sense as-well. The show was very favorable in making the Ottomans look good. They call it the “conquest” of Constantinople instead of the fall.

Was it not called the Eastern Roman Empire? Did they refer to the empire as Romania? It would makes sense, the Greeks coined the term Romaioi and would use it to distinguish themselves as the true successor and people of the Roman Empire.
