You could even argue that the novel reads metaphorically as the black grail itself narrating it. Maybe this is an absolute common take and I didn't know but i guess it all sums down that after a while you realize how not even zero is on Kiritsugus side.

Familiarized* I think zero is both the best and worst of the fate universe but a lot of the horrible flack it gets it's because of fans like this+disregarding it as pure edge. The novel really drives the point through emphasizing on this vandalization of Kiritsugus ideals as well
