@oliviabrxtn Yes they’re playing with their food. Made it to final interviews for multiple companies. I aced all of them and there feedback is always we’re looking for something else? One even cracked back to me a week later and I just copied and pasted their rejection letter and sent it back

@TheOneTrueSalt @teneikaask_you Commitment level must be high. Especially if you are coming from a field that is not technical. A lot of studying and note taking. I averaged about 20-25 hours a week studying. They partner with employers and a good amount of ppl from my class got hired, no gurantees

@teneikaask_you I was part of the pilot back in 2018. Overall the program was solid. Just be prepared for a lot of studying. I do digital forensics and incident response at a credit union currently. All the training from the program helped me get all the jobs I have had.

@bettersafetynet After using JIRA/Confluence, using archer at my current shop is brutal. User interface is terrible, trying to get metrics is a nightmare, and trying to track incidents sucks. There are tools out there that are WAY better and don’t need an army to maintain.

@notshenetworks It just boils down to what employers want. I’ve noticed over the past 2-3 years scripting in Python was always a “preferred” qualification on every job posting. If you want to get ahead of other candidates it wouldn’t hurt to learn Python.

Certifications will get you the interview, your skills will get you the job. As you progress and gain more experience, certifications are less valuable. If you’re are new to the field and relying on certifications to get you to 6 figures right away you will be disappointed.

As a person that investigates cases where employees work multiple jobs, they will catch you. Most employers have an insider trust organization that have tools that monitor productivity and can see what you’re doing in real time. People forget there is no expectation of privacy.

@ireteeh Python and SOAR is missing. SIEM and EDR are 2 completely different tools that have different functions. SIEM would be in log analysis. Detection methods are missing too (snort, and yara). There is no mention of networking or cloud.

Microsoft releasing a complete security stack from EDR, SEIM, Firewall, and Sandbox is going to change the game. Especially if they include it in O365 licensing. Some orgs going to consider going full O365 because if the value and quality of their products.
