Is America becoming a surveillance state? Or is it already one?
@ReadCashmere
uncovered a concerning trend of international sex workers being detained, dehumanized, and deported as the US border.
Our reporting led us to believe AI might play a part.
SCOOP: Sex workers are reporting increasing levels of detainment and deportation at the US Border. Are AI and facial recognition software to blame?

When I put out a call for pitches from sex workers, my inbox was filled with lawyers, academics, parents, social workers, and all sorts of people with “respectable jobs.”
Sex work isn’t what the stereotypes say. We are your friends & colleagues. Someone you know is a sex worker.
I’m so excited about the upcoming launch of Pleaser, a new section from
@DailyDot
on sex and the culture that surrounds it.
Follow us at
@PleaserPosts
. We’ve got some really cool stuff in the works.
When I was doxxed out to my newsroom as a sex worker in 2020, I thought my career in journalism was over.
Today, at 24, I got to share about the upcoming launch of a media outlet about sex and sex work I created alongside an amazing team.
Pretty full circle, huh?
Sex workers should not be expected to bear the brunt of sexual violence so men can have a “right to sex.”
Decriminalizing the sex trade is about the right to work and access, not about a right to fuck. No one is entitled to sex, even via sex work.
Our society criminalizes sex & sweeps it under the rug. The consequences are straightforward - there is more violence. Since platforms like Craigslist were banned from advertising sex, serious violent crimes against all women – not just sex workers – has increased by nearly 1/5.
With
#paypig
trending on Twitter, I want to remind people that FinDom is CONSENSUAL.
These men are not mentally ill and bullied into sending women money.
They’re consenting adults with a fetish they participate in willingly. Represent it as such.
I have a theory that Gisele is a witch and I truly, genuinely believe that this will not only be Brady’s last season, but we’ll see him rapidly age and become full on awful at football.
Very proud to share that for the past few months, I’ve been putting together Cashmere Magazine.
Formerly Pleaser at
@DailyDot
, Cashmere is now a standalone outlet covering sex: the industry, news, laws, politics, education. and culture that surround it.
Pleaser at
@DailyDot
has transitioned into Cashmere Magazine.
We believe that our stories, stories by and about sex work and sex workers, essays on love and dating, news and reporting on adult topics, and education on kink, sex, and BDSM, deserve their own home.
As a journalist and a sex worker, we in media have an opportunity to represent sex work without sensationalism and with accuracy. It’s really important we do so.
This month has been crazy for me.
I got engaged, I launched
@PleaserPosts
, I watched South Park all the way through, and in 15 days I will be on a beach in the Caribbean, at an all inclusive resort, to celebrate it all.
I am really living my hot girl in media dreams
Excited to share that I’m stepping into the role of Head of Creator Relations at
@youpay_official
!
Providing creators avenues to safe, secure, and reliable methods of brand and image monetization is both a personal passion of mine, and a central focus of the company.
There’s nothing better than getting a piece filed that’s not only beautifully written and engaging, but so fantastic that even I, who took the pitch, am blown away.
Writers, man. Y’all are really something.
I received an invoice today alerting me I was getting paid again for a piece I wrote close to three years ago because an educational publisher licensed it.
Does this mean I’m literally in the history books?
Goodnight Twitter!
Will be getting into bed with my boyfriend and cozying up with my cat because I’m not chronically online and genuinely could care less about getting into it with y’all.
Not my circus, not my clowns.
JOURNO REQUEST:
I’m working on a piece for
@ReadCashmere
on the recent surge of allegations of abuse against male executives and male performers in the pornography space.
I’m looking to speak to women and NB creators who have experienced this abuse and have called it out.
I’d love to connect with (s)experts, doctors, pr professionals, sex workers, and anyone that would like to be quoted as sources in future pieces for

@PleaserPosts
this really all set in over like 2 glasses of chenin blanc and dinner at pastis because I wanted to celebrate this and like wow… I’m a sex editor living in nyc. I’m engaged. I’m 24 and 14 year old Vic would think I’m the coolest ever.
Hi!
I haven’t been on this side of Twitter lately because I’ve been working on a new project that I’m really excited to share more about soon.
I can’t wait to tell y’all more. It’s exciting to be creating something so special and important.
rest in peace to Vice, in which I have been featured as a financial dominatrix, for my piece about ACAB, and written what was called “socialist propaganda” about insulin pricing
it was a teenage dream of mine to have my name and byline there. a loss beyond measure.
I don’t tweet on this account too often anymore but I am always looking to connect with writers, editors, and PR professionals that are engaged in and writing on sex, work, start ups, finance, technology, and their intersections.

going from a political reporter and opinion writer to a dominatrix wasn’t as big of a transition as you would think, being that you’re still working with the same people
Eli Lilly is concerned about profitability, not the government policing our bodies.
When it absolutely refuses to lower the price of insulin, a drug type one diabetics need to survive, why would they risk paying for maternity leave or medical care for pregnant women?
Eli Lilly & Co., one of Indiana's largest employers, says the state's new Republican-passed abortion restrictions will force the drug maker to "plan for more employment growth outside our home state."
Me trying to get on the right wing manosphere podcasts where they put down OF girlies to talk about the actual sexual economy but I keep getting rejected because they know I would destroy them with facts and logic
Thinking about how as free tube sites have lost traction and the paywalled fan site model has risen in popularity, so much of the internet has become…. porn.
Yet, as media literacy drops, people fail to understand that, and they react as if the content isn’t performative.
2023 was a wild year.
I conceptualized, launched, and ran

alongside an incredible team at Fragment Media Group.
I started consulting on the c-suite level in the emerging technology space — particularly sex tech.
I started planning my wedding!
For context: This piece isn’t going to focus on the harms against you but rather on the cultural change of performers refusing to allow abuse to be the norm.

If you’re going to read one single piece from Cashmere, it should be this one.
This piece humanizes sex workers in a way we don’t often see: showing vulnerability and sharing the same struggle many of us face in silence: mental health.
Mental health affects many things, love, sex, work. But when work revolves around your sense of confidence, what can you do?
@GoddesStormie
knows the feeling. In a new essay for Cashmere, she speaks on the unspoken: depression as an online dominatrix.
This piece — which I identified the scoop for based on sex workers sharing their personal experiences on Twitter! — is probably my biggest accomplishment of 2023.
Assigned to, investigated, and written by

While the marketing is impressive — and something I take part in as both a content creator and a sex tech consultant — I worry about the mass impact on our culture of people not being able to separate fantasy from reality, advertisement and promotion from genuine interaction.
PR girlies (and boysies and theysies): I’d love to attend some NYFW shows.
