I absolutely hate the yearning feeling I get when I finish a show or book that has a character I've become hyperfixated on/obsessed with and there's no more content. like I feel so manic I'm half tempted to throw myself out a window
nah bc my man looked like he was abt to kiss her infront of everyone when he wasnt even courting her, he wanted her that bad no one else existed ✋️✋️✋️
smut has been around for decades, women have been reading erotic literature for decades. it gives me a headache to think how long this whole "you're reading porn" superiority argument has been actually going on
@colbridgertons
literally, the second he realised he fucked up he apologised to pen too. people always just overlooked him because he was the most unserious of the brothers and the one that had the least romantic plot tbh, but if they paid attention s1&2, he's always been so sweet and good
rina kent knew what she was doing writing aiden king bc she gave me a emotionless, psycho of a man and then had him give the fmc nose kisses and send 'I miss you' texts & has me melting into a gd PUDDLE ✋️
do yall ever get tired of being this pretentious?? these "smut" books you hate sm despite not having read them do in fact have a plot, deep relationship dynamics, often are slow burn and angsty as hell with some serious mental health rep but go on abt your real books
craving a fantasy romance where the fmc is a princess and the mmc is her royal guard & and they've been friends for years but he's just been pining thinking his feelings are unrequited. meanwhile she's an absolute brat and sleeps around all the time hoping to make him jealous
idk how ppl can enjoy a book, finish it and then be like "yeah I'm gonna read the next one another time and read smth else", I have to start the next one immediately like it's a compulsion 😭😂
whats the author you own at least 3 of the books from but have never actually read, even though you keep telling yourself you will, and then when they release a new book you're like ooooh (even tho you've read NOTHING by them still??) mine is ve schwab
there are three types of books, the ones you read & know you'll be casual about, the ones you put off reading bc you know they'll consume your entire being & you won't be able to think abt anything else, then there are the ones you think will be casual but consume you anyway
grovelling is great but yk what is perfection? when it's their pov & they've had that realisation of just how bad they fucked up, they think they lost them for good & hate themselves for it
I see so many ppl who read romance first & are now getting into fantasy romance but where are my fellow only read fantasy/paranormal romance & didn't think they'd ever enjoy books without those elements but then discovered dark romance & now read abt cowboys ppl

@fangsxbangs
before this year I spent so long struggling to finish a book bc I was mostly reading hyped books that I couldn't get into, it was only when i went back to just following my gut and reading books that sounded interesting to ME that I started enjoying reading again 👌
being a dark romance fan is so weird bc there's no fanart so yall are just posting pics of models that look the same expecting me to know which character that is
yall what book could you end up stranded with for weeks on end as your only form of entertainment, reading it again and again without getting sick of it?
I will never understand nesta hate, like what did she really do that was so bad? she didn't go out and help her sister hunt for food when she was only 2 or so years older?? that should have fallen to their dad and she knew it.
imagine if all 4 of the high lords from the seasonal courts in acotar lived together in a castle & they were all cursed, instead of just tamlin & it was way gayer?? and feyre ended up being mates with all of them as well as rhys?? anyway read beasts of the briar 😂
I see so many ppl who think ya means no smut but really it usually means the sex scenes are super vague and not at all detailed, but they exist lmaoo, bc its a step towards intimacy in a relationship & can still be written in a beautiful way without being the filth I love 🫶
give me an angry, harsh, traumatised mmc who ends up so happy by the end of the book that he's nonstop smiling and laughing and I'll be sobbing the whole time
I'm so glad I pretty much ignore discourse at every turn bc if I didn't my blood pressure would be through the roof w the amount of dumb shit that comes out of some of these ppls mouths
does anyone else correct word usage when reading in their head?? like you get caught on a word that sounds weird and your brain replaces it with a word that sounds better to you so you can move on?? or is that my writer brain being annoying
when a character that was made to feel so small/weak by their abuser finds themselves in the company of someone way more dangerous but they feel comfortable enough to argue & speak their mind without fear, that's my favourite thing
and if I told yall this is the only form of social media I post on, I haven't updated my fb, insta, etc in at least 2 years. I am unreachable irl. I go to concerts and shit and don't even post it on my story anymore, they're just saved for me & it's so nice
