The commune of Schaerbeek in Brussels uses our taxpayer money to pay Facebook to promote a €25 voucher giveaway for car parking 🚗💨 🚙💨 And we are surprised that the #cop26 was a failure? We can’t even have our own cities to dare to say no to local car drivers…

Why are there 3 lanes for cars rue Rogier and not even one for bikes on the way to North Station in Brussels? Rue Brabant is even worse with 4 car lanes, 0 bike lane 😳 Can we share the road a bit more equally please?

@paulg That’s the point. I stopped growing physically and the world needs to stop growing in material consumption and GDP. But thanks god there are so many more dimensions where there is growth potential. We only see what we measure (see also “seeing like a state”) and we became blind.

On vit dans une maison partagée. Si chacun d’entre-nous avait sa voiture, on aurait 2-3 voitures parquées dans la rue et cela n’aurait mis personne “mal à l’aise”, personne ne nous aurait rien dit... C’est fou.

Ce concept de @citizen_garden est sympathique mais il me met très mal à l'aise. Pourquoi ? Car il revient à autoriser les personnes (souvent aisées) qui ont un garage en ville à privatiser une partie de l'espace publique sous prétexte qu'elles pourraient y mettre leur voiture.

Why do we implicitly force everyone to have an opinion on everything, to take a side? It should be ok to say “I don’t know”, “I didn’t have the time to research this topic properly”. Resist polarization.
