Chicago police needed 20+ minutes to arrive after a driver killed 3 and injured 2 outside Jeffery Pub. CPD also didn't respond to a call from the pub 25 minutes before the crash about an angry man who said he was going to get a gun.

I sincerely cannot believe the amount of good intentioned, intelligent, and competent police officers leaving the Chicago Police Department via resignation. I took the test for this job with 9,000 people and McCormick place. Now we can’t keep anyone beyond 4-5 years.

I don’t think a lot of people know this, but the US Army actually has a program that sends combat medics to work in the trauma unit at Cook County Hospital as part of their training. It’s the best place for them to be exposed to gunshot wounds and combat-esque trauma.
