What a beautiful week in Stratford upon Avon, working nights, exploring in the days. Sun making the

look beautiful, the ducks werenโt as impressed

@CanalRiverTrust
Iโve done an ultra of 2, but that was another level! From going right up to my waste in a bog, to carrying g a bloody heavy pack compared to normal, then sheet ice over the moors,
@TheSpineRace
pushed me to my current limits of endurance. But that was amazing!!
#Nocomfortzone
Final kit check for
@TheSpineRace
after finding my jacket wasnโt the right level of waterproof! Enough calories for 2 days for a fat lad, garmin on charge and backpack mount arrived! Rear pack light and toilet shovel fitted and

buff for the win

#trail
Iโll stop going about
@TheSpineRace
, but I wanted to extend the hugest gratitude possible to all the MRT and every volunteer we met on the day, they made the day. Words canโt express thanks enough to those at the end who looked after us!

The Spine Race kit update list. Lesson learned today, thereโs always lighter kit than you have, 2, thereโs always the โooh letโs upgrade to thatโ and 3, get a mortgage!! Pic shows 2/3rd of mandatory kit

The final remnants of Weymouth Quayside track, nice to see the info board commemorating it, all the old buildings now demolished as they werenโt architecturally wonderful.

@bordersbeeching
Ran a half marathon called โthe Slow and Dirtyโ along the S&DJR and it was a joy to discover so much still about, so thereโll be a few tweets coming

Decided to explore this old line from Stratford upon Avon, which I followed down to Long Marston, and Iโm sure thereโs more to discover, maybe tomorrow

A remnant from the old Broad Street Station in
#London
. Long closed and demolished, with just parts of it remaining and no doubt awaiting redevelopment.
@bordersbeeching
Bristol Dock railway. Now a preserved line that runs along a little of the old docks. Fascinating place and could spend hours here exploring
@bordersbeeching
The former station buildings at
#Charfield
in Gloucestershire. Disused and attached to a vehicle repair centre. A new station is planned for the โfutureโ. Currently working in what was the goods yard. Forgiveness obtained after wandering around
@bordersbeeching
The former rail line and bridge at
#FortAugustus
, by the Caledonian Canal
@bordersbeeching
. Opened 1909, closed 1947. The bridge supports are concrete
Part 2 of yesterdays explore. The remains of Milcote station, an incredibly remote station with almost nothing round it. Station closed in 1966

Well this is the only pic of me out of 2100 ๐๐ and I actually don t look dead! Amazing figures from the day, 46 did not start and 41 DNF with only 154 finishing. Crazy to think nearly 1/3rd either didnโt start or finish! Feeling rather proud!
Just over 3 years from starting out in C25k, wondering what the hell iโd done, I finally cracked the sub 2hr half! I know itโs 300m short on gps, but Iโm claiming it! Absolutely proud as punch # running

The former line down to Queensferry on the Firth of Forth. Lovely walk, very steep gradients which would have been a sight to behold

Well itโs snowing, itโs dark, Iโm in a random school car park, it must be another event. This is going to make last weekend look dry! Numerous sections under water. Oh what fun ๐
@urbancyclist
@gazza_d
Yet here we are being asked for help NINE months after the event! If it was one of us on 2 wheels, theyโd have the pitchforks out
Very pleased with todayโs effort. Had a pacing plan in mind, and stuck to it, even after needing the portaloo at mile 5. First official sub 2 HM (other was a track) felt good all the way, even with the wind against us.

The remaining station building at Cirencester. Great Western Railway line from Kemble (1841-1964)ย terminated here in 1841. The station building was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. One of only two such buildings which survive-it is a Grade 2 listed building
@bordersbeeching
Well that bloody hurt!

Weymouth. The day was tough, starting with no electricity from 4am and thunder and lightning. So no swim. Torrential rain and 30mph winds! 6inch standing water in places. The the run had a headwind in both directions of the laps!
Absolutely incredible day out on the
#GreenManUltra
. We had to run in up to 3ft of water for mile after mile, but I can in under the 12 hours which considering the conditions, Iโm rather proud!

Disused but now repurposed line from Bristol at
#Warmley
. Shows the box is open 2-4 on a Saturday. Can see all the equipment is in situ
@bordersbeeching
Absolutely gorgeous morning to get a run in before the pool. Itโs days like today you feel alive, blessed to be out and genuinely grateful for how life is working out

Well today would have been my dads 79th birthday. Not a week goes by when I donโt find myself thinking of him. I dedicate each run to him, as we never ran together, and his passing was my wake up call to sort my life out! Miss you Dad and always love you ๐
Well itโs now 3 days since I finished
#MonsterTriathlon
, and itโs still not fully sinking in yet! It went so fast, and leaves a big hole after training for 9 months! But this video shows just how much of a bond you make

Part 3 of the Stratford Greenway exploration. The buffer beam seems a symbolic token to the lines history, the signal is by the electrical cabinets still there, and the bridge plaque is over the canal

Following on from yesterdays exploration of the line to Queensferry,

@bordersbeeching
Well yesterday was brutal in every sense of the word! People lost their shoes in the bog. 34 miles and 6700ft of ascent. It was the toughest Iโve ever done
