On Monday night, I approved an out-of-state mutual aid request from our friends in Cherokee County, NC to help find a boy lost in the woods. The Hamilton Co. Drone Team jumped into action and our own PJ Kellum found the boy with infrared tech and he was rescued. Good work, PJ!

Restaurants across TN are trying to staff up, get back to normal. Cracker Barrel in Lookout Valley has closed half the dining room due to “understaffing.” This is what happens when gov’t indiscriminately throws money at a problem — we’re paying people not to work. What a shame.

I nearly got elected to Congress in my 20s — would have been one of the first two or three millennials. In hindsight, I probably dodged a bullet. Since then I’ve taken great interest in how the first millennial GOP Congressmen would lead. This is not what I had in mind.

Downtown is a ghost town at dinner time. Lots are empty. $7 or $8 to park on a weeknight is unreasonable. No wonder ther are so many real estate signs where restaurants once were. City leaders should look for creative parking solution to help owners survive on weeknights.

@ClayTravis You say they “were wrong” as if we are looking back and it’s all played out. Death rate is lagging stat. You don’t get corona and die the next day. And no expert ever said the US would have a 10% mortality rate. Italy’s rate is high bc 37.6% of cases are 70+.

If only Chattanoogans could find a few more things we agree on as universally as our frustration with Republic Parking. Yesterday they gave me a $50 ticket, with no warning, for parking on the wrong floor of an empty garage I pay $70/mo to park in. Gotta love it.👏

Shelby and I got married 10 years ago today. Grateful to be living the life we dreamed of a decade ago. Marriage is not for the faint of heart, but we agreed early on we wanted a big family with a lot of love and a lot of grace. Here’s to my girl Shelby Marie.

I’ve never found myself rooting for President Trump like I am today. Look forward to him spiking the football once he and FLOTUS beat this thing. He will have a big time telling us that neither impeachment nor a once-in-a-century virus can take him down.

Last year I was visiting the Creative Discovery Museum with one of my kids and had an idea: county gov’t should support more families having access to CDM. Today we announced a partnership to give every Hamilton Co. kindergartner 4 unlimited “passport passes,” valid thru 6/30.
