i apologize for the long wait (and the length) but I've finally completed my essay about the ordeal of civility. i hope you all enjoy, and i hope it can be useful to you
ive been thinking a lot about it and realized it can no longer be avoided: if we want to save western civilization, one of us is going to have to write the greatest love story of all time
No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.
randy's whole bit about approaching the object of desire without reaching it is what happened. its its why they didnt really do anything when they got inside. its why the anprim guy looks so confused. its why the *rioters* filed in in an orderly line and followed the rope fences
when they reached the object of desire, actually *stormed* the building as they had fantasized, they didnt know what to do anymore, the fantasy had become reality, the script didnt exist past here, so they just... left.
this is why none of them even thought to hide their identities, because it just wasn't *real* to them - it was an elaborate masturbatory exercise that got out of control
i dont mean "not real" in a flippant way - i mean very genuinely that they cannot conceive of this event as part of *real* life, because they are narcissists - and these riots, like all the other political riots in the states, are extensions of their identity
I was trying to explain to gf my absolute rage against education system, after i discovered ancient greeks from reading phil books: “wait, these guys invented all our culture and i know nothing of it? Why didnt we learn any of this? What in the fuck have they been teaching us?”
@LandsharkRides
food lines, scarcity, sharing a bar of chocolate with your friends because its a rare thing to get, arguing with the old man in the shop about the price of vegetables, pulling out a hidden bottle of liquor covered in dust for a special occasion
Part 1 is an introduction to the overall idea, which I think is a genuine contribution that is solving an important question theoretically, & even provides an actionable path to a great deal of social problems of modern life, which I will explore further in future installments

Theres a classic 4chan post that i cant find for the life of me, i think from fit. concerned pepe, “ive got a job and a gf. is this it? now what?”
talking to people and saying normal things and feelings with no trickery, no intellectual bullshit just telling them about something i felt or liked and watching their faces as they do not understand a word
The next step after memeing /ourguys/ into lifting and good health is memeing /ourguys/ into dressing nice. A basic blazer. Good shoes. Etc.
You must be handsome maxxxing
cut my long hair off. no longer a bohemian yearncel, no longer an artist with a chip in his shoulder, just another corporate cog. its over. it never began
The dating problem, the woman problem, is that you are in a healthy world supposed to be introduced to others through relations, family or friends, via gentile civil society. in modernity you have to meet women who are complete strangers: of course trust is impossible there
reading about the greeks is like reading about aliens, they are so far removed from ourselves, but reading about the lives of roman in the time of caesar and then augustus is like reading of your own contemporaries
“Even if you see no chance of prevailing, just attack. A heroic warrior does not concern himself with victory or defeat. Without hesitating, he whips himself into a deadly fury. This is when he understands; this is when he awakens from the dream.”
courage is the critical point of civility - it takes courage to objectify yourself, to exit the private space and enter public life as such. it is not a matter of iq, it is and always will be a matter of bravery
what seems to be completely broken in the mentality of boomers is how they cannot imagine working for the next generation. through all history people have worked so that their children can inherit their wealth, land etc. the whole point of working is that children are better off
you don’t have to see the Napoleon movie. its bad. we knew it would be bad. you don’t need to have an opinion on it, you dont have to waste time being angry about it. He showed us the way years ago. we don’t have to do this anymore
peasant under a feudal lord:
-fat wife
-steady income
-you get to farm all day
-absolute certainty that you will go to heaven, have literally never doubted the existence of god
modern era:
-corn syrup
-computer
>have writers block
>drink coffee, sit, try over and over to pen a good paragraph for an hour
>nothing
>give up
>go outside and run 5k
>come home
>writers block is gone

“the trick to hegel is you can actually skip most of his work and get straight to kierkegaard. youll pick up the important bits from there”
@cumlasagna1
the point of reading 500 books is not to prepare you to write something great, not to make you smarter, but to make you realize that you are retarded
