Tonight I spoke with an IRL contact of Ahoyo’s. While they were not present for the upload of Trimming the Herbs, they did witness Ahoyo practicing it. They also claim he was a player of great integrity, and couldn’t fake the sense of achievement he expressed after TTH.

I cleared Trimming The Herbs by modifying a Wii Classic Controller so I could control it with a Raspberry Pi Pico, and playing back the TAS through it on my actual Wii U. It turns out that Bluetooth is not very repeatable, but after enough tries it worked.

Ahoyo's confession does not mean that we should have disregarded innocent until proven guilty, and it doesn't mean that there wasn't reasonable doubt. It certainly does not justify the conduct I've seen from (some) people that thought it was TAS'd.

Furthermore, much of the drama that ensued was not actually about whether or not TTH was TAS'd. It was about the lack of evidence, and the fact that people were throwing out allegations based on pure speculation. They came to the correct answer, but that isn't relevant.

The best part to come out of @MmRiles ‘s video is that he showed Ahoyo was working on the tricks from TTH well in advance (at least a month earlier.) This gives us a far better understanding of the timeline, as previously it was unclear if he just made and beat it in a week.
