As featured today on Uni Watch, I made a leather vintage goalie blocker coaster with replaceable absorbent layer that gives the proper “waffle board” effect. Sno Seal wax just like we used to do on our old leather goalie gear.

Jersey rehab project is complete. Covered the disintegrating heat pressed name and numbers with twill. Small sleeve numbers due to not much room between the shoulder and stripe. Probably not too many Harold Snepsts North Stars jerseys out there!

It was so much fun making these vintage glove ornaments I just kept making them in different colours and styles. Tiny 1mm eyelets, leather, and waxed thread construction. I’ll be sending these to friends, they will make great Christmas tree ornaments. @UniWatch @PhilHecken

This brown polka dot quilting fabric has a mottled finish that makes it look a lot like a vintage leather goalie blocker (also known as a waffleboard). Obviously I had to get it and make a mask out of it. Now it’s a blocker of a different type. @UniWatch

One of my better finds and a jersey I added to my collection. The Vancouver Canadians wore these Expos-themed jerseys for Tim Raines Night in 2017. After the game they were autographed and auctioned off. Super cool and fun jersey.

Fun one here - large 36x24 painting I did a few years ago, sort of a horror version of Blackhawks goalie Warren Skorodenski who wore a skull-painted mask. Not a style or subject I would normally do but it was fun. Mr. Skorodenski liked it so much he wound up buying it from me!

A waffleboard is the old nickname for those leather goalie blockers with the holes in them. I made a batch of these blocker tree ornaments to send to friends this year. Comes in a matching package.

This is the 2nd jersey I have made for goalie @Chuck_Eldridge . It's a tribute to ice hockey in Orange County, with the logo based on a vintage ice cream/soda pop theme. Very large as Chuck is a big goalie! All crests are done in felt for a vintage look. @UniWatch @PhilHecken

Finished Calgary Cowboys WHA replica jersey based on the first year version with lace collar. Goalie Don McLeod. Name on the real jersey was chain stitched, so I replicated the style in satin. @UniWatch @PhilHecken

Durene Caps conversion is finally complete. Replaced the crest with all sewn letters. Replicated as closely as possible the numbers and unique name font. A couple of original game jerseys shown for reference. Caps used twill nameplates. Jersey for sale DM if interested.

Haven’t been doing much sewing these days, but did a quick jersey rehab on this vintage V jersey I got last year. Heat press number cover up plus name and sleeve numbers. Quick job, didn’t sweat the font details and used the closest nameplate material I could find.

Went back to the consignment store and this jersey was below $40 so I bought it. The SIR is my favourite of all Canucks jerseys and I have never had a white one. Might convert it to the blue nameplate version worn for at least one game in 1977.
