I have given 2 prelims. In my first prelims(2021) i failed miserably and got only 74 marks in gs 1 and 44 marks in csat. Cut off that year was around 88. I was approximately 15 marks below the cut-off.

Few things you should know before starting upsc preparation:
1- It will take a minimum of 2 years, even if you clear the exam in the very first attempt. So have patience.
2- Don't follow the toppers blindly- No one can tell you what will work for you and what will not.
The biggest mistake I made in my UPSC journey was not taking care of my mental and physical health.
I know I am not alone; every other aspirant out there is making the same mistake too, and that is why we consider it not a serious issue.
