If you’re skiing, you’ve accepted WAY higher risks than getting Covid from a 5-year-old outdoors on a mountain. 🙄 It is WELL past time for grownups to read up on actual Covid risk factors. It’s not a little kid’s job to assuage your irrational fears. We’ve asked enough of them.

I agree with Hogan. In his 5/15 press conf announcing the county would not reopen, Elrich pointed to data they’d just gotten - 1500 NEW hospitalizations that day! Would have been big if true, but it wasn’t. That was state’s total hospitalized, and was down from the peak.

Governor Hogan during his presser says Montgomery County Exec Marc Elrich may not understand all the data and probably should be moving county into Stage 1.

Look what came in the mail! Advanced reader copies of my novel, Haven Point. Very exciting! (And not just because I thought the box outside was carpet cleaner and bird seed from Amazon). Real deal hardcover on sale June 8, 2021.*

If you think masking toddlers is cost-free, read this thread. Could they at least try to justify this policy? Tell us how many toddlers in cloth masks it takes to prevent one Covid hospitalization. (Of course, the gig would be up. The answer is "infinity." Cloth masks don't work)

It would be like having a recount in a few hand-picked counties in, say, Florida.

This makes me unspeakably sad. It's not unrecoverable, our appreciation of decency. But it's well buried for the moment.

Read this. Think about this. George H.W. Bush's gracious handoff to Bill Clinton. It's beautiful.

@hollychilek @bethanyshondark My daughter, a high school senior, goes to school out of state. When she left for spring break, she didn’t know she’d never go back. She knows she is fortunate, and others are suffering far more from this virus. But I’ll go ahead and say it: she’s suffering, too.
