Post 180 concluded our season today 36-4 as the Mid-Atlantic runner ups losing to Randolph Co. NC Post 45, 3-0 and 3-2. We are deeply proud of our players and will miss those graduating out. Thanks for all the support throughout the year, especially our Post 180 membership.

With Vienna’s loss last night at n the VA State Tournament, our season is over. Post 180 accumulated an overall record of 21-6. We will miss our graduating players and all of our fans who were so supportive during the year. You will always be part of the 180 family. #180forever

Uncommitted Bannon Brazell is no longer. Today Bannon committed to play baseball at Radford University. Bannon was a 1st team all Concord pitcher this spring for James Madison HS with 3HRs.Bannon is currently leading Post 180 hitting .468 with a .643 OBA. The best is yet to come!

The Cobra, Eric Lingebach, broke the Post 180 single season record for RBIs this summer with 64, breaking the long standing 1988 record of 60 by Chris Burr which was thought to be unreachable. Lingebach hit 16 HRs this season which was just short of Burr’s record 20 HR record.

It’s hard to pick a team MVP with great players. This guy was truly our team leader down the stretch, a team high .429 BA, .535 OBP, 10 HRs, 45 RBIs, caught 11 games in 13 days during the States and Regionals shutting down the running game. The 2019 Post 180 MVP is Avery Neaves.

At Oakton tonight, the Cougars outlast W. Springfield 14-9 in a non-district game. The play of the game was this Grand Slam from Oakton’s Robbie Lavey who had 5 RBIs on the night to include 3 walks, 2 of them intentional.

The Mid-Atlantic Regional Tourney hospitality in Asheboro is awesome. Every team gets a sponsor. Ann at the Central United Methodist church coordinated a big meal for 180 after our game Wednesday. We are forever grateful to these kind people.

It’s with deep sadness we have learned today of the passing of former American Legion Post 180 Manager Burt Crump. Coach Crump led Post 180 from 1978 - 2005 and served our country in wartime. Tremendous service to our community. Our prayers go out to the family.

We are on the eve of the American Legion District 17 Championship. The first round starts Saturday 7/15. We are playing for our 60 year old District Championship trophy and to see who advances to the Virginia State Championship. Good luck to all teams.

Post 180 is excited to announce that Oakton HS Sr standout Tanner Vislay will be rejoining the squad this summer. Vislay hurled 29 Inn for Post 180 in ‘22 with a 1.82 ERA (9 inn). So far this spring, Vislay’s record is 4-1 while posting a 1.81 ERA over 27 Inn with 35 Ks.

Huge Announcement. Shepherd University freshman outfielder and Oakton Cougars ‘22 grad Ethan Jones is returning to Post 180 for the summer campaign. The former All-Region Jones will look to help lead Vienna back to the VA State Tournament where we finished 3rd last season.

Congratulations to Post 180 CF Allen Yager @yager_allen who was named VA State Tourney MVP this past week by the Tourney staff. The uncommitted @OHSCougarsBSB rising senior went 7-15 with 3 runs scored with 3 RBIs while playing solid D. Yager is currently hitting .380.

You can’t beat perfection. Braden Huebsch tied a Post 180 season win total without a loss going 8-0. Only Tim Davis had as many wins without a loss in 2012. Huebsch threw 55 innings, walking only 6 with a 1.63 ERA getting big wins vs VA Post 72, 280, and Regional champ Post 45
