Meet our new son, Daniil Dankovsky. He was born on 9/11 is literally brain damaged. He's also deaf! Daniil is a 2 month old 2.5lb Devon Rex. His fur is silky soft and curly! He may look like he doesn't have whiskers but they curl too. 🥺 He's not home yet but will be soon!

His ultrasounds were looked over by multiple vets and showed extreme scarring, swelling, and deformation likely caused by renal dysplasia - a congenital kidney development defect. Meaning he was born with these problems and we're lucky to have had him for as long as we did.

We were told he had "kidneys of a 17 year old cat" and that they were missing many of the layers necessary for processing and normal functioning. Even if we'd caught it even earlier it's unlikely to have changed the outcome. He was loved fiercely and that's what matters.
