The EU's Borrell announces the bloc will set up a new "strategic communication task force" for the African continent to address "foreign information manipulation and interference." He doesn't spell it out, but Brussels is trying to counter Chinese & Russian influence.

Having spent €4m of EU taxpayers’ money on renting a temporary office in Brussels to allow for renovations at their original HQ across town, the Organisation of African, Caribbean Pacific states has now put the original HQ up for sale instead, with no works having been done.

Interesting here on Ukraine-Africa funding issue to consider European Peace Facility too. Perhaps money wasn’t technically “allocated” yet to Africa pre Ukraine war, but expect AU side will be watching this closely.
