The amount of projection about both “the left” and the “working class” as already unified actor at this moment is bordering on eschatology. How many people who have completely opposed ideologies speak for “the working class”? Even acting for itself, a class cannot speak as one.

If you feel like you need to vote for someone tactically. That is what is. It is the least you can do in most cases. My issues aren't about the electoral bind most people are in and you aren't going to fix before November. My issue is the total lack of a long game period. /1

As a person from a mostly blue collar background as a child, I really wanted to believe that being white collar as my parents wanted for me was meritocratic, etc. Having worked all kinds of jobs from pizza cook to insurance auditor, editor, and then worked in education. /1
