So I had a calf born dead last week. We had a set of twins that the momma wasn’t taking care of one. This might seem gross but my dad skinned my dead calf and tied the hide around the one twin. My cow never knew the difference and took care of the twin like it was her own

10 days ago, had a bred heifer get tipped over in a bottomless bunk. Thought she was dead when we found her. She wasn’t. Spent the past 10 days lifting her twice a day. Today was the first day I found her standing up by herself. Good way to end the week.

Got a guy out doing some dirt work named Don Schroeder. He’s pushing 80, uses a hand pump on his fuel trailer, runs a mid 70s D7 CAT with no cab. It was 25° this morning and he wore a trucker hat all day. They sure don’t make em like they use to!

I had this mentality in college, come home every spare moment I could to work. I thought it was a good idea at the time but looking back, I wish I would have spent more time doing college kid things. I’m no farther ahead now and it’s one of my biggest regrets in life

@CbarJRanch @josephring4 I feel the same way. Dad always told us growing up that if you had time to go to the lake or go on vacation you weren’t working hard enough. As I grew up that became engrained in me. I’ve been trying lately to not always work and enjoy life some. But it’s HARD for me.
