On this day in 1933 Bert Bell and Lud Ray founded the The Philadelphia Eagles after buying the Frankford Yellowjackets out of bankruptcy. Bell renamed them the Philadelphia Eagles. My mother Frances UPTON gave him the money . He later founded the NFL Draft.

Tom Matte of the Baltimore Colts died last night.I was with the Colts for most of his Career.Tom could do anything . He was a RB as well as playing QB in one of the great playoffs of the 60’s against The Packers in 1965. A missed FG that was called good cost us the game .RIPTom

I remember Carl Weathers before he was Apollo Creed in Rocky. It was Sept 1971 and we the Patriots were playing our opening game against the Oakland Raiders and Carl Weathers was the starting LB & a pretty good one. We upset the Raiders that day . Rip Apollo Creed

This is a Football signed by Otto Graham that sold for 5, 000. If you notice it has Bert Bell as Commissioner on it. He helped design the white ball with black stripes for Night Football .He sold the TV rights to the Dumont Network for Saturday Night Game of the week in the 50’s.
