finally made my own color scheme for sublime text 🦀 still need an official name for it, though... feedback/suggestions?
attached photos of what it looks like + included the color palette in case someone wanted to try to replicate this to another editor
spent way too long on this -- here's a video i recorded while making it
the velocity of the spring changes the transparency graph on a UIGradient to try and emulate motion blur. also supports all fonts and also scales properly
on an unrelated note... this map is unreal - im so unbelievably lucky to get to work with such talented people 🥹 you should totally check it out in-game because these screenshots do not do it justice
@Ep1cDrew
@leenarblx
one of my friends sent me a website that perfectly illustrates how important having good ux is
i finished in 9 minutes and 44 seconds, reply w your times if you finish it
@Elttob_
@theloudscreams
i will make a video explaining why i use scale/how to properly use it one day…..
@Quenty
helped me figure it out and it’s life changing
i was a former UIScale advocate though 😤😤😤
thank you for the kind words :D
the studio docking update is actually such a huge improvement for my workflow, so thankful for these changes 🙏
popped out plugins/windows also look much cleaner! sooooo good!!!
if you have roblox premium, or own at least 1 limited item and have a public inventory (premium players can play with private inventories) you can try it out here 👀 still a big work in progress
for context:
i'm using a program called Virtual Desktop that lets me use my vr headset (Valve Index) to use my desktop in vr - text is decently readable, and the framerate is good since my headset supports 144hz : )
subtle detail, but the gradient behind the

@sleitnick
personally, i'd rather have smaller bezels and let the trade-off be a notch. it looks so clean imo, and with macOS i'm not using that screen space most of the time anyways
LAST THING: THANK YOU for nominating Stock Crash for a Roblox Innovation Award (Best Use of Audio and Voice)! this is a huge compliment to us, thank you so much for your support and consideration!
@kindagoodmeal
idk if this is a bad thing
i don’t want roblox to re-invent every professional tool and make it half as good as the real ones (see: getting studio drafts instead of native github integration) — it feels like a poor allocation of resources
basically, wherever you hover, all of the GuiObjects underneath your cursor will be highlighted - you can press tab/shift+tab to go forward and back through the list. the number in the top left corner is how many tab presses away it is from the current selection

@TheAmazemanRBLX
our game Marble Mania has a 91% like ratio, and our peak ccu was ~7k players because of the top rated sort... eventually got removed/fell out of the sort/etc aaaaaand we haven't seen numbers like that since :\\\
i wish we could apply for it
there were lots of people asking us to bring the game back since we closed it - we worked really hard to deliver an update that was worth the wait. we really hope you enjoy 💪💪💪
@BoatbomberRBLX
everything else seems fine, i might also recommend springs instead of easing here since it can make the animations feel more playful (if you're not already ... it looks like tweens in the video)
@RDot117
ty :-)
i use scale, and it's because of how i structured the hierarchy, the frames inside of the frames that are controlled by the uilistlayout in the scrollingframe can be animated, which gets clipped by the scrollingframe
...if that makes sense xd
@BoatbomberRBLX
‼️👀
super into the idea of having different types of loaders for different types of content. as for the actual animation of the bars, i think they look good! only suggestion might be to slow down the speed of the bars or add a slight delay since it feels kinda chaotic
@Elttob_
the documentation for roact was actually quite nice, i understood most of the concepts -- the only problem is that i'd have to use it for about a month or two before i got any real value out of it, and i don't have that sort of time : (
@reselim_
i tried tweeting it forever ago but twitter didn't like the resolution of the video i tried uploading, so i just gave up
finally got it to work 😩
@Elttob_
@passhley
@MrAsync
keyboard-only text editing definitely isn't for everyone! i think that is a reasonable stance to have. the learning curve is so steep that for awhile, it actually is a legitimate hindrance. but i feel like i've passed that point, to where it now feels like
@Elttob_
i ... did not make the sounds :(
i really want to make my own ui sounds though! i just have no idea where to start, and sound design seems incredibly daunting
