i headcanon the tips of branch’s ears are cold, like far colder than normal. he was grey for 20 years, if downturned ears are a sign of physical difference, i can imagine this state could mess with his body’s biology. such as limiting circulation!

branch wouldn’t use adoption to fulfill his own need for a family. branch’s interest would always lay in helping the kid, for the benefit of the kid. his aim isn’t to replace who was in this kid’s life, or force the kid to view him as family. he’d wanna help, no strings attached
