I know frequency, the routes themselves and bus quality is a large factor here, but I (personally) feel as if people don't give buses a chance at all from day 1 more due to unfamiliarity (or prejudice) than due to those reasons.

@VenlafaxineHoe tbh the line is blurry, but Greater Dandenong is SE, I'd say half of Monash and most of Kingston. Eastern is like Whitehorse, Stonington, Boroondara, Manningham. Stonington and Bayside some people consider SE, but culturally they're east. Oakleigh I'd say is the border.
