Biggest disadvantage of coming from a no name college is the lack of enthusiasm in your peers. You're conditioned to think small. It weighs folks down over time. There are outliers. But the average of “what I can achieve” is low. Thats the core value-add of tier 1 colleges.

Social media ads are a turn off. Your product becomes “just another” in an endless list. Some brands do a good job, but most with cut paste graphics and text simply suck. Raw emotion, flaws, and founder’s story remain the best marketing levers especially for early stages.
