Also a few years down the road, when volleyball is no longer your number one priority, I hope you find someone who you’ll be comfortable enough to share your world to (even if it’s not me 🥺). I truly wish you all the happiness in this world has to offer,

Captain Ishikawa’s legacy:
• Japan advancing to Olympic quarterfinals after 29 years.
• Japan beating Brazil after 30 years.
• Japan advancing to semi-finals in VNL — a first since VNL started.
He was able to achieve it all and his name is Yuki Ishikawa ✨
“Yuki Ishikawa today became the fourth highest scoring player in a single match in the history of the Olympic Games!
The captain of the Japanese national team scored as many as... 32 points in today's match against the Italian national team!”

🇯🇵 Yuki Ishikawa został dziś czwartym najlepiej punktującym zawodnikiem w jednym meczu w historii igrzysk olimpijskich!
Kapitan reprezentacji Japonii zdobył w dzisiejszym starciu z reprezentacją Włoch aż... 32 punkty!

“Personally, I want to tell Ishikawa, who blames himself, "That's not true." I know very well that Ishikawa himself would never say "I did my best," but I still want to tell him "That's not true."
- Yanagida Masahiro on Captain Ishikawa Yuki 🥺
"I can't think about the next Olympics right now," says Ishikawa, but he believes that the new experience he will gain from this season at Perugia, the world's strongest club, will help him in four years' time.
Since it’s still not sure if Yuki will be present at the match later (by present, I meant in the audience).. Decided to compile his NT profile photos ever since he started in the senior national team 🤧
Your Paris Olympic journey had a rocky start but you definitely redeemed and proved yourself 🥹 Not the outcome we wanted, but I’m still proud of you for fighting until the end 🤍 Rest well and enjoy the rest of your stay in Paris,

"What is certain is that Ishikawa changed Japanese volleyball.
Today's match is a big test for Japan but God will not give us a test that we can't overcome. I think this match against Italy will be of great significance for the future of JP volleyball."
Bringing back this video. I cried the first time I’ve watched it pre-Olympics. I’m watching it again and can’t help but cry again 😭 Yuki Ishikawa, you truly are one in a million 🥹

All I can say is, all those years of hard work paid off. Tonight, you were able to bring home a medal for Japan. I couldn’t be more proud of you,

“I think everyone played very well, and I played very poorly, so I was not entrusted with the ball at all where I could have been. I will make sure I am prepared to get those kinds of balls from the next time.”
“I thank Simone Giannelli for giving me the ball, which was perfect: I just had to score and I did. Easy to play with him? Sure, he is great, but the match was not easy. I had wanted to play with him for a long time anyway, now the moment has come.”
“I love volleyball..
But no matter how much things go wrong or how much I suffer, I still love volleyball and I want to get closer and closer to the world that I want, so I'm willing to sacrifice time and things for that.”
The progress of Japan is still something to be proud of. Throughout the years, you could see how far they’ve gone as well as the growth of the whole team 🫡
“However, in the middle of the 4th set, I lost my concentration, which was unavoidable because I hadn't been in the game for such a long time. However, Otsuka, who came in as a substitute, did a great job, which helped me a lot.” - Captain Yuki to Tatchan 🥹
Yuki was born on December 11, 1995 - which was winter in Japan. Because the snow was falling on the day Mama Midori gave birth, he was named 祐希 or Yuki which translates to snow (雪) in Japanese ❄️
“I would be happy if I hear more and more people say "Yuki Ishikawa is good", "He's cool" or "I want to be like him" not only in terms of results but also in terms of his humanity and human skills “🥹
@Yukiishikawait
I want to show you a stronger Japan from now on. To the 'strong Japan' that we promised on that day... We will break the world barrier with a point that the rest of the world cannot score.
