Rep: “Those products don’t align with our philosophies.”
Customer: “Well my philosophy no longer aligns with you. I’ll be moving everything.”
The average car payment is over $500/month
My wife and I both drive paid off vehicles.
We each put $500/month into a Roth IRA.
In 35 years those IRAs will be worth over $2 million each, tax free.
Enjoy your “whip” though.
Bought some land.
Plans include:
Build a forever home,
Build an Amazon warehouse,
Build an AirBnB cabin or 2,
Raise cows and chickens,
Grow and harvest timber,
Lease farm land,
Raise a bunch of kids and play in the dirt.
PS5: 100-200% mark up.
Karen: “I can’t believe you would charge that. You’re scum! How do you sleep at night knowing you rip people off!!!” 😡
Starbucks: 1000% mark up.
Karen: “it’s just like the best, like I have to have it, like everyday.” 💁♀️
🛑 What if you had an additional income stream that would pay your mortgage? 🏡
Having a baby on the way makes your think about such things. 👶🏻
That’s my situation.
I’ve created that income stream in less than 5 months.
Let me tell you how 👇
Today I paid 2 teens $10/hour for 8 hours to peel stickers, FBA label, polybag, and box up items. 📦
Even provided pizza for lunch 🍕
They prepped 382 items. ✅
I saved myself 16 hours of work. 😅
It cost me $0.42/item, plus pizza. 🤙
Profitable decision. 💰
I still have an iPhone 8.
I’ll use it to make 6 figures this year.
There are people who have the newest iPhone 12.
They’ll use it to scroll and argue about politics on Facebook.
Use your resources wisely.
Found only 1 of an item at a store.
Get to checkout and a mom comments how she would love to find one for her child.
I tell her it’s the only one left.
She sighs.
I pay for it and give it to her.
Immediate smile!
I found 6 at the next store.
Walmart puts a date on every clearance sticker. See 4/24/20?
This is the date that the item was marked down to the price shown.
It's important to know these dates for a couple reasons...
THREAD
When I start selling on Amazon in 2015 I sourced products in a 1997 Ford Ranger single cab.
I’ve used other personal vehicles since then.
Today, the first of the Toyfolio fleet was purchased. 🧸🤙
Look, I get it.
You want to make a living reselling.
Problem is you have a 9-5 and you have a family.
Finding time to go sourcing is limited.
I have been there. Done that.
Here are 5 pieces of advice I have for you.
Thread/
Most resellers right now:
Scrambling. Tired. Headaches from dealing with customers and shipping companies.
Me:
Selling toys everyday I don’t have to touch.
Don’t have to speak to customers.
Storage unit full of FBA prepped and ready toys for 2021.
Playing chess. ♟🧸🤙
Walmart Cashier: “why are buying all of this?”
Me: I resell it on Amazon
Cashier: “so you’re a scalper?”
Me: I’m providing value to millions of customers.
Cashier: “Buying and reselling for a profit is just wrong”
Me: How does Walmart make money?
Cashier: *Crickets*
Me: I can teach you about Amazon and give you lots of product leads for $297.
Karen: “SCAM!”
College: Here, pay $297 for this textbook the professor will never mention, you’ll never need for homework, and you won’t learn a thing from.
Karen: Absolutely!! Where do I buy!?
If you would have told me a year ago that my book would ever be next to one written by Tim Ferriss in any kind of search results, I would have laughed in your face.
Yet here we are.
Thank you to everyone that has supported it.
$3,000.
That’s how much I earned in cash back from credit cards in 2020.
This money is tax free.
Cards are always paid off in full.
Anyone that tells you that you can’t responsibly use credit cards hasn’t done it.
Five years ago I was bringing home $2,600 a month.
I’ve made that same amount over the last 2 days.
You can do it too.
You just can’t give up.
Don’t breeze past the first 3 words of this tweet.
Platform: Amazon 💻
Category: Toys 🧸
How I find toys: Brickseek 🧱
How I know what to buy: Keepa 📈
What I use for everything: Inventory Lab 📊
Bank account where all the money goes: ...
In January I bought 100 of these for $20 online.
I also found 71 in stores. Half at $10 each and half at $4 each.
Sold 170 between $65-$90.
Net profit: just shy of $8,000.
Toyfolio Ring of Honor worthy. 🧸🤙
A guy I played baseball with in high school passed away with cancer today.
2 little boys don’t get to see their dad again.
Now that I have a son I can’t stop thinking about it.
Grateful for another day to put my son to bed.
Every day is a gift.
Paid a guy $300 to pressure wash my house, garage, and driveway recently.
Most people see this as a $300 loss.
I see it as a net gain.
It would’ve taken me 2 days to do the job myself.
I can make well over $300 in 2 days.
Pay people to make yourself more efficient.
Just got off a webinar.
A member of my group has already done $900k this year on Amazon.
Should hit $1M this month.
He wasn’t even on Amazon 3 years ago.
🤯🤯🤯
Moral of the story...
JUST START!!!
If you are new to selling online, don’t ever be ashamed of that first small sale, that small screenshot, or only one order to ship out.
99% of the worlds population has never done any of it.
I haven’t touched my Amazon account since Monday.
Went to the hospital Tuesday.
My son was born Wednesday.
We came home Friday.
Sold 150 toys this week.
I get to hold my son instead of packing orders.
FBA still undefeated 🧸🤙
I once lived on less than $35k a year.
That’s all I made.
I still live on less than $35k a year.
It’s a fraction of what I make.
This is the cheat code to get ahead.
I live in a small 2 bed 1 bath house.
I drive a 14 year old truck with 200k+ miles.
I wear a solid black T-shirt almost every day.
Don’t want or need to impress anyone.
Live simple.
Make money.
Help others do the same.
Little man turned 1 today.
Just got to put him to bed.
My wife and I got to spend the entire day with him because I sell on Amazon.
It’s days like day when I’m reminded of my “why”.
Blessed. Grateful.
eBay customer: “Hey, my dad’s 3rd cousin found this on marketplace for $15 cheaper. Think you could give it to me for that price?”
Amazon customer: never messages you. Skips over 7 cheaper offers because they didn’t offer Prime shipping. Places order on their phone over brunch.
I just want to live simply
I just want to drive my truck with 200k+ miles.
I just want to wear solid black tshirts.
I just want to be around to watch my son grow up.
I just want to sell some toys to make it all possible.
I just want to help anyone else who wants in.
I started selling on Amazon because I wanted to put my wife through grad school debt free.
Her program was over $25k.
I was making $35k a year.
Sometimes you need your back against the wall.
510 pending orders right now.
I don’t have to package or ship anything out tomorrow.
I don’t have to answer customer questions.
I get to hold my son tonight.
FBA does all the work. 🧸🤙
Married men with kids make more money than any other demographic.
I’ve always heard that stat.
Having a kid now, I fully understand it to be true.
A good woman and your child make you hustle differently.
Christmas is always Dec. 25th.
It doesn’t even change dates like Easter or Thanksgiving.
Yet, every year, people have this “OH CRAP” moment on Dec. 20th.
They will rush to computer to order something from Amazon/eBay.
Be there to solve their problem.
You have 7 months.
“Greg, how can you send FBA shipments everyday?”
Glad you asked.
Here’s a short thread.
1. I purchase the inventory months before I plan to sell.
2. I list the inventory through
@InventoryLab
.
3. When I list it, I can see any type of prep I need to do to the item.
I’ve sold over 1700 items on Amazon just in the last month.
Once I send them to FBA, I don’t have to do anything else.
I just monitor prices and change if necessary.
From my phone. 🧸🤙
How to get ungated in toys/toy brands on Amazon:
1. Get your EIN and sales tax ID number.
2. Open an account with a wholesaler that carries the brands you want to sell.
3. Order at least 10 units of 1 item.
4. Submit the invoice to Amazon.
In 2006 I went on a mission trip to Mexico to build houses.
While there, my friend and I got to stay with a host family for a night.
They had a Father, Mother, & 3 Sons.
Their cousin from next door was our interpreter.
When it came time for dinner the boys were excited...
Quote from a top 3000 Amazon seller yesterday that keeps popping up in my head.
“To succeed today all you have to do is be AWAKE. Everyone else is sleeping.”
I’ve been to 23 Walmarts in the last couple days.
Following where Brickseek told me to go.
It was spot on 21/23 times.
I believe it was correct on the other 2 as well, someone else just beat me.
The only way you lose with those odds is if you’re the Atlanta Falcons. 🧸🤙
Me: I can make $10 on this toy.
Then: not much profit. Not worth it.
Me: I have 200 of them. So that’s $2,000.
Them: yeah, but it’ll take forever to sell through.
Me: On Amazon that’ll last about a week or two at the current sales rank.
Them: crickets
Here are things I pay monthly/yearly to run my Amazon business:
Professional account - $40/month
Insurance - $190/month
Brickseek - $30/month
Keepa - $150/year
Inventory lab - $480/year
RevSeller - $100/year
Parent 1: Buys a $50 toy for their kid.
Complains about the cost.
Parent 2: Buys 3 of the same $50 toy.
Flips two for $75.
Profits $50 total.
Keeps the 3rd.
Free $50 toy for their kid.
Just think a little different. 🧸🤙
I’m one of the most introverted people you’ll ever meet.
Putting my thoughts and words “out there” in a book honestly terrified me.
Sold over 1000 copies in 9 months.
Step out of your comfort zone.
The 3 main toy brands to focus on getting ungated for on Amazon:
1. Hasbro
2. Mattel
3. Spinmaster
These are the parent companies of many brands you know better.
Unlocking them opens many doors.
Just spent $305 and filled 3 carts.
Total retail value $2,235.
Brickseek just paid for itself for the next 2-3 YEARS!
I laugh every time I see someone say it doesn’t work. 🤣🧸🤙
Them: “Courses, coaches, ebooks, etc are all a scam. The people selling them don’t actually do what they teach.”
Also them: proceeds to pay $50-100k for college...Taught by professors who don’t actually do what they teach.
Make it make sense.
Do yourself a favor.
DO NOT go into credit card debt to buy and hold items to resell.
It’s good way to get yourself into trouble.
Don’t put your family in jeopardy because you got caught up in excitement.
One day I’ll just invest $100-250k in inventory for Q4, sell it then, work on something else the rest of the year, repeat the next year.
That amount will spit off a 6 figure return every year with my buy and hold strategy.
There will be no need to constantly source.
You can support Trump or Biden and we can still be friends.
If you can’t honestly say that, or if the thought of that makes you angry, you’ve got work to do.
In 2015 I started selling on Amazon in hopes to put my wife through grad school.
In 2020 we have started having conversations about her not working anymore.
I’ve sold over $2,000,000 in toys on Amazon and never used a bot.
Can they be useful and have a place? Absolutely.
But you don’t need one to make money online.
One minute you’re trying to make an extra $100 a month.
The next you’re clicking buy on an OA order and you spend more than you used to make in an entire month.
Keep going.
