Nolan Genasevich, a 6-foot-8 sophomore forward/center from Hazleton Area, was the first player off Scranton bench tonight. Genasevich 32 minutes in first 3 games with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks and a steal.
J.J. Hood pitched a complete game and hit a two-run homer in Wyoming Area’s 5-2 victory over Pittston Area. Hood received the Joe Agolino Sr. award as game Most Valuable Player.
Pittston Area defeated Wyoming Area girls, 54-42, in the Tigue-Denisco Cup game. Lily Savoy (PA) and Aleah Kranson (WA) were their team's Most Valuable Players in the rivalry game with 15 points each.
Perhaps it's just an old reporter's eyesight deteriorating, but it seems more and more like modern uniform designers thinks it's their job to use outlines, shadows and other tricks to make numbers as difficult as possible to see. The assignment is to help all identify players.
