If you're looking for a shot of positivity regarding the vaccine impact in Nashville, the Metro Health Dept told me on Friday they have seen just two cases of fully vaccinated people needing to be hospitalized. Two patients over 75 y/o, neither died or ended up in the ICU.

My key takeaway on tonight's election: Progressive candidates excelled. Obviously O'Connell is in the pole position in the mayor's race. Of the 15 candidates backed by the Justice League, 10 won outright, three at-large advanced to the runoff. Just two candidates lost.

Council is supposed to vote tonight on an agreement to possibly host the RNC, but odds are that doesn't happen. The legislation is VERY likely to be withdrawn or deferred indefinitely, leaving the city's chances of hosting the convention in doubt.
