I have just been informed that I have been shortlisted as business woman of the year in ROI- deeply humbled and yes
@peterweirmla
I did have a secondary school education which seems not to have limited my opportunities

My daughter is in quarantine in her halls in Edinburgh. They said they would deliver food- she advised she is vegan
@EdinburghUni
sent a mars bar and croissant

This place will never change if we keep 90%+ children segregated. We need to bring our kids together in education. In housing too we sit at 70%+ segregated - time for leaders to address this - it’s not about
#BrexitIgnitesTheTroubles
My little boy is 10 and just beside himself about his transfer test results on Saturday. They were scrapped in GB for a good reason. This needs to end !
@peterweirmla
Congratulations to Tina McKenzie on her appointment of FSB Chair, Policy and Advocacy, following today's AGM, with effect from 8 March 2022. Read more >
Fair play to
@DUPleader
actually taking in the trolls. Too many think they can get away with slander on Twitter. None of us need to take that without redress. Trolls be alert.
Heading onto
@bbcradioulster
at 1pm to discuss 11+ (again). There is little evidence that it actually provides a route for gifted w/c children. Is it time to follow most successful countries and scrap selection at 11 - yes it is!
Difference in ROI and NI ? in ROI if you isolate or are off work you get paid €350 per week & govt pay all sick pay not companies !! Let’s help people isolate with proper financial support
@niexecutive
@FSB_NI
Taking the opportunity at our board meeting today to celebrate our CEO
@tinamckenz
ahead of a big birthday this month…hard to believe it! Grateful for her energy, vision and leadership. Now for some cake 🎂👏🏻🎉
No drivers … look at economically inactive and offer them all free training and financial incentive to become qualified. Oh and women can drive btw what about affordable childcare ? New ideas needed now.
The more I listen to
@SueGrayCO
the more I realise what a loss she is to the civil service and NI generally. A challenger and disrupter and proud of it! The civil service loss is the
@GOVUK
gain. More disrupters needed in public service to get real change.
What a day. Organising teams upon teams, reorganising, Teleconference’s, supprtimg clients + credit control & bank calls - come home late to a little 10 yr old boy just so sad that “he will never see his p7 friends again” 😢
Dr Tom Black says we know people are tired of this. No people are losing their jobs, their businesses, their homes and in some cases their minds. You can’t keep us locked down forever!!!!
#timeforaplan
The girl who failed her 11+, rests her GCSEs and A levels. Got a 3rd in her degree - heading into Stranmillis College to enlighten the future teachers about successful business
#lifeisstrange
Such a surprise tonight to find out I’m listed as an inspiring leader on this global list. I’m in very good company and some brilliant women in Ireland too! Big thanks to the people who nominated and voted for me.
#womenempowerment
Happy to update that Molly has had some food and taking things in her stride. She will be telling her account and that of her fellow students
@BBCNews
tonight at 6pm
@EdinburghUni
Happy international women’s day to all the women out there. Especially to those who are in trouble, are worried, in poverty, in a controlling relationship or any situation you did not want to be in. Be strong - have hope. ❤️
This year we have had 11+, A levels and today GCSEs. Thank goodness it’s over! My children did well but reminded them that they have had all the advantages ! Mustn’t forget the large amount of children left behind by our education system year after year

An excellent 3 days in Washington DC.
So honoured to have been invited to The White House to represent the business community in NI.
Important we talk to everyone about what our great country has to offer.
Collaboration is key and it starts with relationships
#StPatricksDay
Very interesting debate
@niassembly
today. Lots of comments re their Britishness and Irishness. Not a lot of detail on how we help business move forward on 1st January. I do despair. Oh and
@JimAllister
blaming the business community - says it all really.
Unemployment soaring, nhs overwhelmed in NI before Covid and more so now, businesses closing, poverty, homelessness, lack of hope and a lack of leadership
@niexecutive
this place is just getting worse!
If we are going to be living with this virus long term (according to medical experts) the least
@niexecutive
can do is give business some indicator targets they would need to see before allowing society to open and function again. We need to start planning now!
@FSB_NI
In a lot of companies only the top team get private medical insurance. I am delighted that from last month all of our staff are now covered with private medical insurance from day 1 with us.

Another interview. I’m tired of people saying business do not speak up enough. Unfortunately politicians are just not listening

Early start today
@BBCNews
discussing lack of staff available within hospitality industry. It is simple we need to deal with skills shortages- chefs, nurses, doctors, welders etc, lots of skilled migrants leaving - now industry, education and govt must work together

I’m very excited to try and bring this award to the North tonight!! All thanks to the amazing people who support me everyday

Worth remembering UK govt wrote a cheque for £500 Bn in Oct 2008 for banks in banking crisis. To date support has been £123bn to business and others. We need long term support for small bizz when furlough ends
@FSB_NI
As soon as
#outofoffice
goes on you immediately waken at 5am. Up with the singing of the birds. Simple things in life are most important. Grateful for the health of my family/friends and colleagues.

First day working from home. I hear the 10 year old dictate to his poor Dad in the kitchen that he must start by calling the register so he can say “here” 😳
I’m abroad so can’t be there in person at St Anne’s today but certainly there in spirit. I will miss you Lyra, as will NI. Your death will not be in vain.
