Being gamer parents, our kids normally get to play with our consoles and get the old ones by default. We buy on launch when we can. Imagine their surprise when we got them their own Xbox Series S. There was stunned disbelief and then happy screaming.

You gotta hand it to Microsoft, they are surviving the console market through a dedicated hardcore fanbase who buys stuff, exceptional number crunching and the power of the war chest. Sony has such a monopolistic hold on the console space that it's easy to see how Sega gave up.

A year ago my house got flooded. And so did one of the OG Xbox One Forza Edition. After draining the water and letting it dry for a month, I opened it and cleaned it the best I could. And it survived! A testament to the quality engineering of Xbox One. Happy #Xbox20 @jronald

A few days ago @KoreaXboxnews and @PastorXbox were tweeting about how PS may be paying to get an edge. Here's another interesting example, Resident Evil 4 Remake. The poster below is in SEA/Philippines and it shows only PS platforms but Capcom ALSO sold the Xbox version.

If you can justify SFV being a PS4 console exclusive, even if they are originally present as multiplatform games, because Sony funded them... Then you can accept Bethesda games as Xbox exclusive because now MS is completely funding the development of those unfinished games.

There are a lot more JP gamers buying the Xbox Series X | S and subscribing to Game Pass as well. This opens a new market for western indie devs who offer their games on Game Pass. And JP devs who continue to ignore the plaform, run the risk of more competition.

@_mannthea Ovet here, in the Philippines, saying you play on Xbox gets you funny looks and laughs. The store clerks actively tries to sell you a PS console when you buy an Xbox game and the Xbox store shelves are not updated. I'm so grateful for Amazon and Game Pass.

Satya Nadella must have known how much investment was needed for Xbox and Game Pass from 2017. It wasn't a blank check, nothing ever is, but the future has been decided and Nadella was going all in on Xbox and gaming since 2017 contrary to insider claims at that time.
