I’m making this plain and clear that as a Muslim I will never physically or verbally abuse any member of the Jewish community. I don’t have words to describe the absolute tragic state of the world right now but violence is not the answer.

I spoke to @BBCLondonNews today and said that there is no excuse for any violence or extremism. It is completely unjustifiable and inexcusable. The violence reflects a strong undercurrent of far right extremism, in a minority of people, that feeds off Islamophobia and racism.

I was driving to work this morning thinking about Taalay. A journalist,a life devotee to the community and a role model for young Muslims striving to better themselves spiritually. He was a gem and left behind qualities which I can learn from. He is loved and missed very dearly.

I had a fantastic evening at a synagogue in London where we all came together as a community for a big Iftar. It was a night to remember and a true display of Interfaith dialogue, love & community. I had the opportunity to sit and learn more about the Torah and its writings.

I had the honour to host an iftari for some of the @UKTV crew at Baitul Futuh. What made it even more special was that morning we had a zoom at 4:15am, as they all decided to keep a fast. It was very special opening the fast together and hearing everyone’s experience of it.

It’s the first time I’ve ever done this and it was AMAZING! It was a pleasure to be with over 70 people yesterday from @SurreyPolice who took part in this years #ramadan fasting challenge. We had a virtual Suhoor and Iftar and dropped off food packages to those who took part! ☪️
