@tpwktom He was definitely more Nick than Hayes here. But I was ok with it because so many tv show interviews depicted in movies come across SO phony and this one didn’t bc it felt like he wasn’t acting.

HUGE difference in not liking something vs gleefully putting effort into building negativity around it. In the slightest chance the rwrb sequel BOMBS and destroys the integrity of the original, willing to bet most in the fandom would quietly take the loss and move on.

Look, I adored this little film before fandom discourse influenced the way I speak about it now, so I'm not trying to join the Matthew pile on and pretend I now think this movie was horrible...it's not. HOWEVER, it's unfair to get mad at ppl for buying what the movie sold them.

@anonymouse_ppl Yeah I've already seen a comment from someone taking issue with him being asked about it. It's completely normal to briefly ask about something unrelated to the project but related to the persons career. Especially if the unrelated thing just came out, like come on. lol

@oohthephysicist @darkskyzine I think it's worth noting that the person doing the watch party clearly stated it's bc of tioy's release w/a laugh. No it won't accomplish anything & we're mostly laughing about it but the malicious intent was made pretty clear & it's ok to point out that it's kinda shitty. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The people who have convinced themselves he thinks hes too good for RWRB likely can't be moved on this. Any statement he makes about wanting to expand his horizons will confirm their delusions & continue to make them antsy and lash out. It's really hard to ignore but we gotta try

@GALITZINEFOX The thing is, the Emmys go based on 1 episode. Nick's strength was his journey across the whole series. I don't think 1 single episode really captures why his performance was so good. Tony though, had a strong episode submission (7) and they could've pushed it harder.
