Incredible oil paintings by legendary Assyrian artist Isho Sava (Salvatore Salla). Isho was born in 1902 in Khosrowabad, Persia but later moved to Chicago in 1920. Isho was one of the imperial painters of the Pahlavi family having painted many portraits of the royal family.

As someone whose family has been a cornerstone of Urmia for centuries, I can confirm nobody calls themselves “Chaldeans” in Urmia/ Iran lmao. The Chaldean community of Iran have been proud Assyrians for centuries. Take your identity crisis elsewhere babes.

@malikashur @thesuraye No historian made any reference to encountering Assyrians for thousands of years until the British in 1850. Obviously, that’s not true about the Mandeans as Xenophon in 401BC clearly referred to encountering Chaldeans in Northern Mesopotamia. Another one of your claims debunked.

The historic St. Paul Assyrian Church in Urhai ܐܘܪܗ/Şanlıurfa. The church housed a miraculous key, which had the power to heal children who could not speak. After mass, the priest would take the mute child to the altar, where the key would be inserted in his or her mouth.

1934 Persian/ Soviet work permit & passport for Khacho Khnanishu, an Assyrian born in Urmia/Rezaieh in 1913. Khacho had gone to Gyumri, then part of Soviet Armenia for work.
