Very proud of our school community and thanks to all of the staff for turning things around so rapidly! Children both in school and learning at home have been fantastic! You are all wonderful.
Some of the Year 6 on residential have accepted the offer to watch the football. Fingers crossed for a good result (and a good night sleep too of course).
We will be meeting as a leadership team in the morning to discuss the impact of the recent news announcement. We are also waiting for further guidance from LA. Please bear with us and we will keep you updated as soon as we know more. Thank you
A big thank you from all of us at The Pines School for helping us to collect 300

Look what arrived from one of our families today! So kind - thank you very much. We are really appreciating all the supportive messages we are receiving! 😍👍
A MASSIVE congratulations to Mrs Davies who completed her 24 hour walk for charity today, and raised over £2000 for her 3 chosen charities.
The Pines is so lucky to have a Headteacher who epitomises our school values of being your BEST! We are all so proud of you! ❤️
Now, rest!
After a WONDERFUL idea from a parent in our community, the week beginning 2nd Nov will be making plastic poppies across the school. These not only look beautiful as we honour the WW1 Centenary, but it also reuses bottles. Please bring in your unwanted plastic bottles. Any size!
Puffins are having the best time! Raft building and a few wet children to finish off the day! Supper is sausages, hash browns and beans. Before some evening activities.
Thank you to all our fabulous families who are obviously worried about this current situation, but your support is massively appreciated! Thank you for asking if we are ok as well!
All 12 of our cross country runners did brilliantly this afternoon. They persevered, they encouraged, they smiled, they ran amazingly well & they did their BEST! We don't know our final results yet but Mrs Hicks was so proud of them all 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♂️🏆
Absolutely amazing to see all of our lovely children today! They were happy and smiling and all settled back wonderfully (even if they were a little tired at the end of the day). Bring on day 2🥳
We have a published author! Jack from Hawthorn class has had his story published. You can download the book for 99p This is such an amazing achievement, we are all so proud of you Jack.
Very excited to see all of our lovely children and families tomorrow. We have some exciting new additions to the playgrounds. If you have any spare utensils please drop them in to the office. Thanks
An explosive start to our Science week this morning with the whole school watching the maiden flight of a rocket. Our first of many ‘innovations in science’ his week. Lots of exciting activities planned for this week.
Year 3/4 have been challenged to draw or paint a keyhole picture of their favourite place or one that they would like to visit one day. Annabelle's beautiful painting is of the Northern Lights.
We did our first whole school virtual assembly today! It went really well and was so lovely to see all of the children. We talked about reflecting on the last few months and appreciating just how far we have come😍
There was much excitement today with the arrival of ITV news. They filmed our wonderful Young Voices choir rehearsing and also interviewed a few children. Look out for the children on the 6pm Meridian news bulletin in the week beginning 6th Jan. 😃🎤🎶🎥📺

I have to say I would be thanking all of the teachers at The Pines and other schools were I have previously worked! I know everyone is doing a marvellous job and care so much for our fabulous children. THANKYOU! Mrs D 😍
Everyone slept (for a few hours at least!) the sky looked amazing at 5am!!!! Coffee will be the order of the day. Everyone happy and excited about the day ahead
Looks at our beautiful new role play area. Mrs Taylor has worked her magic this weekend. We can’t wait to see the children using it. We also have a new reading area all ready to go too. And check out the brand new flooring!

Amy Tennant is a GB & England Hockey Goalkeeper aspiring for Tokyo 2020. She has 11 caps for her country and has won European Bronze and Commonwealth Games Bronze with the England women’s team. She inspired us with a visit and some training for our students today.
I am so massively proud of our school being on ITV meridian news!! Well done to all of the children involved and Mrs Smith for organising
@YVconcerts
Thankyou Mrs D🥳👍🏻🎉
Thank you to all the parents who have sent some lovely messages and emails recently. They really are appreciated and I have let all the teachers know tonight in our virtual staff meeting, just what a fabulous job they are doing. 🙌🤗
Children on residential had a great afternoon yesterday, supporting each other in teams. They are all awake now ready for another day of excitement. The food has been delicious especially the cake!
