I started freelancing in 2014. It was in my second semester as a student of FUTA. My first ever gig on Fiverr was a $5 gig. I moved from that to several thousands of $$$$$ monthly.
I have been through the full cycle:

No sane person takes FFK’s words seriously. When he greets you “good morning,” better go check the sky well to see what time it is. I bet you it probably wouldn’t be morning. I haven’t seen a 63 year old rabble-rouser as cantankerous as he is. Shameless. Petulant. Untrustworthy.
@Eccentric_sky
The resurrection of the dead (or what’s popularly known as rapture) is a miracle in itself; a miracle of miracles. If those who are dead (who have no absolutely life in them) will rise again, what makes you think the deaf will not hear?😀
Undoubtedly, Kylian Mbappe is leading the race to be THE NEXT G.O.A.T — but not quite at the Ronaldo-Messi level yet. Kids who say he's eclipsed Messi and Ronaldo need to calm down. He's got to do it over the next 15 years, at least. But big kudos to Mbappe!❤

Players whose career didn’t (aren’t going) how I expected?
Oh, there’s a bunch: Illaramendi, Ben Arfa, Pato, Januzaj, Gascoigne (legend, but should’ve been more IMO) & Oscar (contestable because he did win some trophies with Chelsea; but I thought he was going to achieve more).
Last week, I got word of this good news. I’ve a chapbook forthcoming from APBF & Akashic books in 2021😭🕺🏾💃🏽! My manuscript, “INVOCATIONS”, has been selected by Kwame Dawes & Chris Abani. I’m stoked! Gratitude to my community of friends. Thank you for your amazing love!❤💕💓
@OneJoblessBoy
Each time I see snippets from this so-called podcast, I always wonder if they are actually serious or joking.
Could there really be people who think this way? For real, for real? Incredulous!
The vast majority of Nigerians are just like Lucky— hardworking people who only want to make an HONEST living. Thank you, Lucky. This is the true Naija image!
@realFFK
FFK is really just an old empty barrel sha. Always making noise. Always jumping ship. No spine. No gracefulness. Not even the slightest modicum of loyalty. Just a rabble rouser who masks his chicanery with faux spirituality. Nobody should grow up to live this way. Such a shame.
This is my brother. He is a model. When I saw this picture, my first words were “Oga ju. God forbid o.” He modelled for this shot to lend his own penetrating voice to the important struggle against police brutality in Nigeria...

Some 15 minutes ago, I called someone who’s currently right beside the Gasland gas station close to Ventura Mall and I’ve confirmed that the station DID NOT EXPLODE. So, right now, the source of the loud bang is still largely unconfirmed.
Please let’s be sure to verify reports

This time last week, I slumped in a mall while shopping. Grateful to God for the other shoppers who helped me up, for friends and family who came to my aid, for the doctor and nurses who resuscitated me...
I am a Christian and very strong on faith. Every client I work with knows this. Of course, I am not bound by the shackles of mindless, purposeless, fanatic religion. But I am big on my faith. When I have to be in a church service, clients know I will do no work during that time.
1. Happy to reveal the cover of my forthcoming chapbook in the New Generation African Poets Chapbook Box-set Series; an annual project by the African Poetry Book Fund edited by Kwame Dawes and Chris Abani.
Out in June! Published by Akashic Books, Brooklyn, New York.
Make bold moves. Send the emails. Shoot your shots. Nobody wey I noh fit email. I once messaged a US senator in a bid to foster a relationship that'd lead to content collaborations. I once DMed Busta Rhymes about NFTs here on Twitter. And many more. Did they reply? No.

First, this picture looks AI-generated.
That said, there’s nothing useless about the boy’s art. He could become the next great hyper-realism artist in the future. Who knows?
Your comment is both ludicrous and useless.
Some people say the reason why they can’t freelance or join the gig economy is because they don’t have laptops. I laugh. You are not yet serious. First, I used to do ALL my works on my phone. Even now, I still write stuff and deliver them using my phone.
You have to work hard. There’s no other way.
I know some people talk about “working smart,” but if you ever think smart work isn’t hard work, you need to think again.
Get. To. Work!
It’s my birthday today.
And I am brimming with so much joy and excitement for the next level of growth to be unleashed.
Thank you for the overwhelming love you’ve shown me so far.💕💓💯😍
This writing thing is hard. On some days, you're a rockstar. One some other days, you're like "WTF did I get myself into?".
Bittersweet — this thing.

When people say I am/look like an ajebo, it makes me laugh.

You need to get out of some places to get into some other places.
If you sense that your path/journey/life is bigger than what it is right now, then it probably is.
Move out of your binding locality (places, people, things, ideas, & philosophies). Go into ur domain of lifting.
Earlier today, I was meditating & thinking about what it means to wait. Waiting is an integral part of the success chain. Sometimes, there’s nothing else left to do but wait. After having done all, after setting and executing all your strategies, stand planted & patient.
Nigerians are writing some of the best poetry in the world right now. Is there any issue from any mag or journal anywhere in the world that doesn’t have at least 2 or 3 Nigerian names? Hardly. This, in itself, is a witness to the incredible talent in the Nigerian literary scene.
Not the best, but I certainly try my best & I’m happy to see the evolution of my journey.
Many thanks to the people in my life, without whose input I couldn’t have broken through the rocks.
Also grateful for the gift of grit & tenacity that I have.
Looking forward to more!❤
When I was a 200L/300L student in FUTA, I went round almost all the banks in Akure asking to speak with their managers about training their staff on communication!
It looked stupid, but it did several things to me. Boosted my confidence in tremendous ways. Be bold, guys!

Hahahah. I get your drift; they’ve become quite cliché. However, I don’t think it necessarily means it’s AI-generated content.
We all know that many of today’s AI models were trained on several data parameters; data created by humans in the first place. The only reason why

Did they stop every other league in the world? There's Laliga, Ligue 1, Bundesliga and a host of others. Watch those. The UK wants to mourn her queen, who was a custodian of history, that way — and deservedly so. It's their realm after all. Why's that a pain in your butt?

1. When I was younger, I was indifferent about pictures. I don't have pictures of my matric, for instance. No pictures of my school days. No pictures of my "signing out ceremony," which I almost didn't join. No pictures of my convocation (heck, I didn't even go).
1. Having worked as a freelance writer for almost 10 years & as a technical writer-cum-journalist at leading global organizations for about 5+ years, I want to share everything I have learned from my experience in this class. It will be resoundingly impactful— arming you with...
Foolishness is telling people private things about you, believing that they should/would reciprocate. You see, I used to be that stupid as well. Lol. Measured speech is very crucial and you need to learn it.
Hey freelancers!
What do you think about hosting a space on X sometime next week?
We’re gonna call it “60 minutes with KSA,” where I talk about lessons I’ve learned from my nearly 10 years of freelancing experience.
Are there any specific things you’d like me to talk about?
1. Are you ready? Apply to 200 jobs this month. DO IT. I know it’s tiring. It’s not easy. Things are difficult. Trust me, I know. In 2018, I lost a $2,000 contract. I went dead broke. I faced numerous rejections. I didn’t have a house to stay. I slept in the office several times.

How many times have we eaten something we thought was bad that someone else said was good? Many times, at least for me. Taste is personally defined. And that's often a function of background, experiences, and exposure.😀
My sister is a year older today. I cannot even begin to describe how much I love her. It’s unquantifiable. Unqualifiable. Happy birthday, Funke. The pretty young girl with a fine mind. The brainiac! The scholar! I love you a billion times.❤ 1000000000%!

Nothing keeps a man awake like passion and a sense of obligation or responsibility.
Not coffee. Not caffeine. No stimulant can rival the explosive effect of a man’s passion. It burns like fire. It keeps you awake through the night!

True life events and lessons in persistence.
I once lost a contract that was to fetch me $2K monthly in 2018. The circumstances surrounding the loss were truly saddening. But what did I do after my bout of sadness? I forged ahead. At another time in 2021, I lost two contracts

Guys, stop taking jobs that pay you $10 for 10,000 words out of desperacy!
You aren't earning in dollars that way ooo... You are slaving in dollars. And you keep making those guys disrespect writers. Writing is serious toil and writers deserve to be paid well!

I will never forget this quote. You shouldn’t too.
Isn’t it amazing that the key to unlocking the next level of your life could be a simple question? A simple request. One click of a button on your keyboard that sends that email. A gentle tap on the dial button that makes that call. One question.
Freelancers (and everyone who seeks growth, really) get in here. You will not experience true expansion until you take some bold steps in life. Be audacious!
For instance, if you are a freelancer, practice charging better— especially if your services are worth the charge. Oh,
I started out writing short stories at 6. And then I started drawing cartoons and telling stories with them. I still remember a character in one of cartoon series whose name was “Baddo”— long before I ever knew Baddo (

Again, not everyone must learn how to code.
I have never written a line of code in my life. Of course, I tinker with programming and other technical things for research and writing purposes. But writing code? I never have and probably never will.

He is really a disgrace. Tossed to and fro by every wind of political lucre. A well without water. The ultimate expression of Janus-facedness. His words should be taken with far less than a pinch of salt.
What should you do when you are going through a season of freelance famine and can’t seem to get new work?
I’ll tell you what I do. The first thing I do is reach out to people I’ve worked with in the past. Those are my warmest leads.

I think it’s probably the same for everyone who started as a noob in their industry and morphed into an expert: Consistency.
You have to be consistent at doing what you do. You have to be diligent. And you have to be humble enough to learn.
Summary: Consistent diligence gets
