Top-tier YouTube Strategy: Building YouTube channels for our own portfolio & clients (German TV, SMEs, coaches, etc.). Built a VC in China. 220 lbs ripped.
The whole term 'automation' is misleading. Cannot automate a sustainable channel. If anything, YouTube channels are some of the hardest businesses to run - even with all the right processes in place.
Don't forget THIS when launching a new channel or uploading a new video!
After having built more than 100 YouTube channels for clients (such as national television) and for our own channel portfolio - I have put together checklists before each channel launch or video upload.

No team around you.

We produced our longest business documentary yet - and looks like it could be our most successful video on this channel yet.
Long, well-researched(!) & entertaining content always wins.
Mark my words, we'll be the biggest German business channel soon.
Our team is crumbling.
Scriptwriters keep changing.
Editors deliver late.
Chief of Staff quit.
That's the problem working with part-timers.
Don't get me wrong, our core team is brilliant. But those are people that are full-time.
Lesson: I need more full-timers.
Do you make $30k per month building YouTube channels from your parents basement? That's nice, but you need to get out there to build an empire. Network with industry professionals to gain insights and opportunities. Conferences, events, summits, etc. It's a game chabgwe
Day 1 of 10 of building a YouTube empire:
Don't waste money on courses! All the info is on Twitter. Once things like Vietnam mafia, content ID, IP, and Chems Scam stop sounding foreign, you're deep enough into the rabbit hole and ready to dive deeper!
How to make billions as a YouTuber?
Build a network of high quality branded YouTube channels that have repeatable/series formats that advertisers are used to from streaming/linear TV.
Cash in once advertising budgets 10x in the coming years.
Are you a video editor?
I have hired hundreds and scanned thousands of applications from editors and editing agencies.
Let me tell you why you might suck:
90% of you don't deliver on time.
Punctuality builds trust. Trust leads to more business. Business = money.

I rarely post revenue figures but on our channel we just closed a deal with a big sponsor company, that is representing brands like LVMH. These kind of deals can be game changers. In this case they take our channel from $6k monthly revenue to $20k.
In general, only trust these YouTube gurus once you see at least one of their channels (and it better be impressive, not some small boy shit) or cases (verified by reputable clients) - or you meet them in person and ask them to show you their dashboard (

I love the media industry
Never thought about the media industry as something that could be interesting.
But building in the media industry (YouTube channels in my case) feels like I reached home.
I could easily build ventures in media for the next 50 years and wouldn't mind.
We uploaded 20+ videos on this channel before finally going viral.
You need to know when to keep uploading because YouTube didn't recognize your awesome content yet - and when to pivot because your content is... subpar.

There's massive differences in production cost depending on what niche you choose.

Kev, why quit a $90k+ consulting job with great projects/travel?
1: Consultants scratch the surface. Being deep in one industry you love (like media) is different.
2: Trad careers=linear; I prefer exponential. $1m/yr as partner is nice, but what if your ambitions are 100x that?
