“The…technology…was actually 1,000+ Indian employees monitoring you…”
This sounds completely made up, but apparently the original source article wasn’t published on April Fool’s Day. 🤨
@TailosiveTech
I’m sure this won’t be universally accepted, but I have to agree.
iPadOS has a walled garden, stuck with whatever Apple will approve for distribution in the App Store.
macOS has comparatively unlimited potential; you can get open-source & other software outside the App Store.
“File corruption as a service?” Yep, that’s an actual thing that exists. If you’re ever tempted to upload a real document to such a service, please consider these security and privacy implications first.
@vxunderground
Well, whichever mainstream Chromium-based browser maintains support for uBlock Origin is going to get my endorsement.
Either that or I’ll just start using Firefox as my primary browser. 🤷🏼♂️

@SamiFathi_
Apple says that’s actually intentional. It gives developers a chance to gradually roll out an update so they can pull it back if there’s a problem.
But I agree, it’s annoying. I actually manually update all my apps multiple times a day; I prefer reading the release notes anyway.
Here’s a preliminary look at what
@Apple
patched—and what they didn’t—in macOS Monterey 12.0.1 vs. Big Sur 11.6.1 vs. Security Update 2021-007 Catalina. (Reminder that some things *only* get patched for the current
#macOS
!)
#macOSMonterey

#Apple
Here’s a ridiculously tall chart showing everything
#Apple
’s said (so far) has been patched in
#iOS
/iPadOS since 14.8’s release, for 15.x, 14.x, and 12.x. Seems evident that
#iOS15
, like
#macOSMonterey
, is getting the most patches and is a safer choice than its predecessors.
#Apple
is still selling refurbished Apple Watch Series 3, even though
#watchOS

@Apple
hasn’t even stated whether it will release any more security updates for Series 3. 🤨
🚫🍎📱You probably know that you shouldn’t buy an iPhone 14 Pro Max, 14 Pro, 14 Plus, or just plain 14 right now. (The iPhone 15 is right around the corner.)
…But did you know that several other Apple products are *much* more out of date? 😲
In particular, avoid buying these
@lauriewired
Ah, if only every manufacturer labeled cables that way…
Sadly, a lot of USB-C cables are poorly labeled, which makes it harder to distinguish between them without testing them. 😓
A couple reliable brands have reasonably priced Thunderbolt 4 cables that support all standards.
@RealJoseph123
Technically, the app is just called “Messages.”And it handles both iMessage and non-iMessage texts (SMS, MMS, and eventually RCS).
Since only iMessage has blue bubbles🔵, and everything else has green bubbles🟢, I’m not sure either color makes total sense for the app icon. 🤷🏼♂️
@DanWuori
Pro Tip: If your toddler says “no,” offer two options you’re okay with instead: “Do you want x or y?” This gives them the freedom to make their own choice, while still ultimately giving you what you want. Win-win. 🏆
@theapplehub
This probably isn’t as big of a deal as some people are making it out to be.
👉The pricing doesn’t affect cheaper iPhone 15 models.
👉Reportedly the base model is 256 GB now, instead of 128 GB.
👉Inflation. Got to expect prices to increase.
👉$100 over 2 years is $4.17/mo. 🤷🏼♂️
@theapplehub
This is a brilliant idea. 💡
It could make a lot of people happy who are looking for excuses to leave Spotify or other services and switch to Apple Music. 🍎🎵
@RealJoseph123
@theapplehub
This render looks like a resurrection of the iPhone 5c’s blue. It’s not bad, but not my style, personally.
I’m more of a fan of the iPhone 12 render’s darker blue. 🤷🏼♂️
@theapplehub
Really not a fan of “small” models’ screens getting bigger. 😒 I miss the 5.8-inch display.
Hard to imagine Apple *adding* a button. Very un-Apple-like.
One thing that could *maybe* convince me to buy next year is on-device AI, if the capabilities are actually useful enough. 🧠
@theapplehub
I get it. But seriously, not everyone needs those. Most elderly people, for example, won’t notice or use them.
If Apple added 120 Hz & 256 GB to base models, they’d charge more—they wouldn’t sacrifice profit margins.
So base pricing would go up, making it unaffordable for some.
@ZONEofTECH
@BenGeskin
Yup, came here to say this.
It’s not identical, and presumably works better than the old Accessibility feature, but still… we’ve basically had a variation of that feature on previous Apple Watch models for years. ⌚️
@theapplehub
Mark my words: Google will rue the day it supported lobbying a government to force another company to open up its tech.
Google short-sightedly presumes this would help them in the short term. But what about when another company does exactly the same thing to Google? 🎤⬇️
@theapplehub
@mi_konstantin
It’s a little disappointing to lose the ability to tell at a literal glance whether your phone is in silent mode or not. 😕
But I guess on the plus side, it expands the functionality and potential uses by making it a multifunction button rather than a single-purpose toggle. 🤷🏼♂️
@historyinmemes
The country really came together after 9/11. Probably the closest the U.S. has been to being truly united as a nation for a long time now.
@SamiFathi_
Yep, this guy is wrong about pretty much every claim he ever makes.
@MaxWinebach
has pointed out his lunacy before, too.
(I’m not sure whether the guy is actually nuts, or if he just pretends to be for virality’s sake.)
This guy used to be a Genius Bar tech and now spews complete and utter BS on TikTok claiming he used to work for Apple, which is only technically correct
@appltrack
😂 Nobody who uses an iPhone and messages other iPhone users will “ditch” iMessage. That will still be the default (“blue bubble” 🔵) experience between two iPhones.
RCS will only be used for iPhone to Android & vice versa, and group messages where that one person is on Android.
@ianzelbo
Haha, “forbidden Apple Watch” has definite YouTube clickbait vibes.
“This Apple Watch is BANNED in the U.S.!! 🤯” with a thumbnail of the host going 😱⌚️
@durreadan01
Well, plus all future models, like those they’ll announce next month. 😅
But yeah, super annoying that even iPhone 15 non-Pro (which Apple currently sells) and iPhone 14 Pro (which has the same chip) aren’t getting any Apple Intelligence features. 😠
@appleintro
No doubt, the original is the best. 👏
It’s crazy that the newer variants look like a classic, chunky, film/DSLR camera… while the oldest version of the icon actually looks the most like iPhone camera lenses. 🙃 📱📸
@theapplehub
It all depends on what you use it for.
Mainly browsing, checking e-mail, and streaming music/movies/TV? Then yes—it’s more than enough. ✅
Backing up a years-old photo/video library? Making video content? Playing major game titles? Then no way; it’s not even close to enough! ❌
@MaxWinebach
It may have something to do with the timing of Nothing's announcement, yes.
And I 💯% agree with you that Apple has been giving this careful thought for some time.
However, I think threats of government entities trying to legally compel Apple to open up iMessage or pull
@SamsungMobileUS
Samsung, you completely missed the main reason for the outrage against Apple’s “Crush” ad 🤦🏼♂️
In the last second of this commercial, you brag that it comes “with Galaxy AI✨”
AI is the whole reason why many creatives are so upset—in their view, it’s crushing creative industries.
@theapplehub
Both! 😮
I use Google Maps if I’m going someplace I’ve never been before, and when I want to know the most fuel-efficient route. ⛽️
I like Apple Maps for notifications in the Dynamic Island, and for wrist taps from my Apple Watch when it’s time to turn. 👍
@PicturesFoIder
Maybe I’m missing something, but… why aren’t the ants just crawling into and out of the nest by walking upside-down on the eaves?
There are literally other ants doing exactly that right next to the nest. 🤪🐜🐜
@lauriewired
This image seems to exaggerate the effect. It’s not as if everything you see in an Apple Vision Pro looks blurry.
In my experience, the most noticeable artifacts are when trying to focus on things dozens/hundreds of feet away. It’s grainy—like optical zoom on a phone camera.

following the company’s announcement of its “Grok” ChatGPT competitor.
🚨Beware that there’s no official Grok app yet.
Scammers *already* have fake xAI chat bot apps in the Apple App Store (iPhone and Mac) and Google Play Store (Android). 👀

Branding as Pro Max vs. Ultra is mostly 🤷🏼♂️
But… “Ultra” does imply something substantially different and “better” (for certain use cases, at least). Like how Apple Watch Ultra is better for extreme sports.
What would be “ultra” about iPhone 15 Pro Max? Just the periscope lens?
@theapplehub
Users already have choices; they can get:
1️⃣ an iPhone, with a walled-garden ecosystem and minimal malware, or
2️⃣ an Android phone, with sideloading and all the customizations (and malware) they want.
It doesn’t make sense to force Apple to fundamentally change its platform,

I’m preparing to write an article about it.

@TailosiveTech
I’m also a cybersecurity analyst 👋😄
Definitely agree that it’s never a good idea, under any circumstances, to give a third party access to your Apple ID/iCloud account. You could end up losing *everything.* Avoid it at all costs.
💬🔵 Can you use iMessage on Android phones?
Officially, no; Apple won’t support this. But there are 3rd-party hacks.
It’s possible to forward iMessages using your own always-online Mac as a proxy.
But I’d *never* trust the 2nd option MKBHD mentions. 😬

This is super disappointing for me.
I have a Series 5 (with 74% max capacity battery health).
I was trying to hold out one more year due to Series 10 (Series X?) being a major revision.
Maybe I should just get the 🔋 replaced and keep my Series 5 for two more years instead. 😕
@RjeyTech
Spoiler! 🙈 But I saw this clip he posted, which seems to imply that Android wins in some categories. Definitely want to watch the full video later
Imagine this:
💬 Apple adds basic RCS support (end-to-end encrypted texting with Android) to iOS Messages app
💬 …and leaves bubbles green🟢 (only iMessage has blue🔵)
💬 Security for all—and iPhone users still get to feel superior
💬 SMS/MMS remains as fallback
Win-win. 🏆
@theapplehub
This is crazy; they dropped pressure sensitivity, which was even on the Gen 1 model! 🥴
It doesn’t support wireless pairing/charging like Gen 2.
And has 0 new features (unless you count USB-C). 👀
So it’s more like a “Gen 1.5.” What was Apple thinking??
Here's a breakdown of the new Apple Pencil vs. the second-generation model.
- Third-gen has no pressure sensitivity
- Has no wireless pairing and charging
- Has no double tap to change tools
- and has no free engraving
It's a low-budget Apple Pencil.
NEW VIDEO - Rabbit R1: Barely Reviewable
This is the pinnacle of a trend that's been annoying for years: Delivering barely finished products to win a "race" and then continuing to build them after charging full price. Games, phones, cars, now AI in a box
@theapplehub
No way. This is an extreme overreach, and Google has no business supporting it.
This is not only ridiculously inappropriate, it’s not even necessary! Here’s a far better solution.
Win-win. 🏆
@LinusTech
“Return YouTube Dislike” doesn’t look all that useful for videos uploaded after mid-December 2021.
It uses “a combination of archived like and dislike data, as well as the likes and dislikes made by extension users.” It only has 4M Chrome Web Store users.
@theapplehub
I’m not really sure what the purpose of this (optional) feature is, though. Elon claims it may reduce bot spam.
But it also reduces non-paying but legitimate 𝕏 users’ ability to reply. Fewer replies = fewer ads = lower Ads Revenue Sharing payouts.
So… who does it benefit? 🤔
Meet the new iPad Pro: the thinnest product we’ve ever created, the most advanced display we’ve ever produced, with the incredible power of the M4 chip. Just imagine all the things it’ll be used to create.

Remember how when the Rabbit R1 was announced, a bunch of people said, “Why make a separate piece of hardware when that could have just been an app?”
Well, this is an interesting twist.
Wait for it…
Turns out that under the hood, the R1 is just an app running on Android. 🤭
Surprise, surprise! The Rabbit R1 runs Android under-the-hood, and its entire interface is powered by an Android app.
I managed to get that app up and running on a Pixel 6a.

@theapplehub
Yep. “iPad Air” is just a legacy name now—devoid of meaning, as far as the current iteration of the product is concerned. 🤦🏼♂️
And don’t even get me started on the fact that the iPad mini hasn’t been updated since September 2021, and hasn’t even gotten a price drop. 😒
“Mess”=💯
@RjeyTech
All I can think of when I see folding phones:
1️⃣ Moving parts = breaks more easily; probably won’t last as long
2️⃣ Too chunky to comfortably fit in a pocket
3️⃣ Even if they got both of those perfect, I don’t really even need more screen real estate in my pocket anyway 🤷🏼♂️ 👨🏼💻
@MishaalRahman
It’s best to expose this early.
R1 was recently criticized for gaslighting users about how it knew their approximate location for the weather report. “Oh, I just picked a totally random location because it’s a popular random place.” Yeah, sure you did. 😝
@theapplehub
Controversial opinion, I’m sure, but Apple should never have added widgets to the Home Screen. There. I said it. It’s absolutely hideous and should be terminated posthaste. 🎤⬇️
@TailosiveTech
Yikes… Apple Watch Series 3 is already not getting security updates anymore, and iPhone X is about to get cut off as soon as iOS 17 comes out. 😬
I wish
@Apple
would keep supporting those devices longer. There’s literally nothing wrong with that era of hardware. 😒
@Support
@elonmusk
Please, *please* don’t make 𝕏 pay-only. Paywalling the entire platform is not the way to encourage healthy, sustainable growth long-term. This is a terrible idea. 😩

iPhone 15 Pro is a great phone (even if it is largely an incremental update over 14 Pro). 👍
iPhone 15 (non-Pro) is a pretty big leap compared to 14 (non-Pro). — If I were in the market for a new iPhone this year, I might’ve been tempted to choose the 15 rather than 15 Pro. 😮
