Yesterday Urban Sketchers Mekelle traveled to Al Nejashi Mosque. The destruction a result of the Tigray genocidal war by Ethiopian&Eritrean government. The mosque was bombed in Dec 2020 & later looted. It is reported 80 Tigrayans died trying to protect it by invaders. #Tigray

A few months ago I moved to Mekelle, Tigray. People ask me, how is life there? Remnants of the genocidal war that begun in November 2020 are seen all around us. The young man with a missing leg. The IDPs begging in the streets of the city. A generation of children not in school.
