I was elected on a platform of being a “troublemaker” and happy to speak truth to power. These tweets got me elected. They are not new. The context of these tweets regard me standing up for other people.
There is a lot of learning to do regarding race and sexism.
I’m not ashamed to say I cried when I read ChildQ’s story. It’s not just a physical violation, the mental violation as well? Lawd… it’s going to take a while for her to get over this. I sincerely hope she has all the help and support she needs.
Do you know what saddens me? The abundance of portfolio crap we have to do in medicine has stolen my love of going the extra mile for things. I’ve found I’ve suddenly become a bare minimum person... that’s never been me.
I’m having to laugh cos the UK ain’t gon’ have any doctors LOL. Constant assault at all training levels. Lmao. Bye kids, I’m moving to Canada in 3 years time. 🥲🥲
The first step is dismantling the white supremacist patriarchy we inhabit, and our institutions propagate.
I’m working on a piece to give the context behind them. I remember them all. Nothing I’ve said isn’t in literature.
@kelechnekoff
This infographic broke my heart. Unexplained deaths and serious adverse events are not that common. One unit having that many is a red flag in itself. One person being present at all of them? Naaah. Even if it’s not intentional, it’s incompetence MINIMUM
“It’s a challenge - this is what people in healthcare go into that vocation for...”
I went into medicine to help people
@MattHancock
- I didn’t do it to see colleagues break down, systems break before my eyes, & patients fail to access basic care they need in time.
@BBCr4today
This eat out to help out scheme doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t apply to deliveries... but there’s Rona everywhere... don’t they want us to stay at home?
I was about to go to sleep and my spirit told me to let somebody know that those ankle boots with kitten heels you’re about to buy ain’t it. Save your money girl.
I don’t know who this message is for but pleas, I beg you receive it.
No need to message me. I’m a-okay.
If you do, I’ll most likely ignore it as lots of people would’ve had the same idea as you and I won’t be able to handle the volume.
If you know. You know innit.
Now that Tazz’s family have come to share, i can finally say that Taz is such a beautiful soul. Her presence on this earthly realm will definitely be missed.
She was such a wonderful light. Magnificent artist, wonderful singer.

One thing my 28 years on this planet has taught me is that men lie. If a man is opening their mouth, there is a 50% chance they’re are lying. If they are breathing? Half their breath is probably a lie.
Imagine coming online to see your colleague posting on the internet that they were the only doctor working in xyz department over Christmas when you were definitely there.
Imagine getting caught in a lie like that. 😂😂😂
TW infanticide.
If I say what I want to say, I’ll get ***redacted***
But yes. A lot of interesting dynamics to see here…
***redacted*** supremacy doing what it has been designed to do, kill.
EXCLUSIVE: The doctor who helped catch Britain’s worst baby killer.
Dr Ravi Jayaram spent two years pleading with hospital managers to investigate Lucy Letby.
Instead, they made him apologise and attend mediation with her.
There’s something about doctors misrepresenting their pay to seem more personable that irks me.
Doctors get paid more than the average person in the UK - yes
Doctors don’t get paid enough - also yes.
Both things can be true
Every time I’m in the shower and I bend over to scrub my legs, I’m reminded of the fact some people don’t do this.
@kelechnekoff
see what you’ve done to me?? I’ve had this thought every day for the last few months. It scares me 😳
Put some bloods through the pod system and walked away buuut my general anxiety and trust issues made me walk all the way back to ensure *I* saw the bloods actually go up.
Nurses struggling to get blood from a patient and they escalated it to my work Uncle (an SHO). Uncle said, “it’s not difficult access until Kayode has tried it first” 🥺🥺🥺
It’s actually nice to be trusted and for someone to rate your skills 🥺🥺🥺
This “Be Kind” thread hit hard as I’m currently in the middle of dealing with a complaint with the reason cited as being “unkind”. Now, I know nothing/very little can come of it as I’ve objectively done nothing wrong 1/?
@gmcuk
is proposing that the primary ‘duty’ of a doctor should to ‘Be Kind’.
Sounds nice right? Kind doctors are a good thing.
A thread on why I think this is a problem,
1/
I’m truly embracing my uncle status these days. I just asked a teenager who was standing in the middle of the aisle I was trying to get off the train, “why are you standing there??” - complete with Nigerian accent
***hot take***
We do daily bloods on some patients cos we aren’t the ones who have to take them.
Let’s be real… a clinically stable person didn’t need their CRP checked everyday just because you want to see a trend.
I need to be in a hospital where all the wards are designed in the same way. Why am I spending 5 minutes to just get all the equipment I need for a cannula? 🙄
I fully don’t care how much you paying. I am not working in an unsafe manner. I Will not do a shift carrying two bleeps doing two peoples job. Nope nope nope.
No is a full sentence.
One of the reasons I love Black twitter is that we have our own language and our own shared understanding. We can have conversations openly that other people don’t understand.
Quick reminder, this is a Black account. If you don’t understand, the messaging is not for you.
There’s something about discrimination/bias/anti racism training that rubs me up thre wrong way.
It’s always you can’t say this, you can’t do that. It doesn’t recognise that these transgressions evolve with society.
I think we should also be asking why this was even a vote? Surely the owners of the land should have automatic rights and power in how it is managed.
But that’s just me though. 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️
Yesterday racist Australians voted against proposals to give more political power to its indigenous communities. Yesterday the Home Secretary tweeted she was proud of Britain’s closer working relationship with Australia.
This year is going to graduate amazing doctors not as a result of their teaching/education but as a result of final year medic’s tenacity and their drive to learn and be better.
No med school should claim their 2021 graduating class. They did it themselves.
The older I get, the more experience i get in medicine the more i realise that published articles or "research" are maybe not as robust as I thought they were... T_T
Homophobic attack… in CLAPHAM??!!
People love to act like all this anti-lgbtq (specifically anti-trans) rhetoric is just words. But this is the end result. I really hope they are okay
BREAKING: Police are investigating after two men were stabbed in what is being treated as a homophobic attack in southwest London.

My baby people threw an almost surprise paaarrdddy for the big THREE O.
Here is me giving my performance of shock and surprise. If there are any agents about, come see the talent. Come see commitment to the role.
Happy Birthday to moi 😍😍🥳🥳🥳
what are the chances that today at work, a lady declined personal care from me cos im a bloke.
at my young age of 21(+7), I have enough insight to realise that this isnt the same her declining personal care cos im black 👀

Me getting my finals results
#IMadeIt
Ya boi made it into final year 🥺🥺🥺. I just need to turn up for the next few months and not be terrible and im a doctor....
God bless this university for making finals at the end of the penultimate year
Yet again, med twitter showing they’ve never had stalkers before. How many times do I need to tell y’all to stop posting your exact rotations with locations???
Had a ward simulation exercise today (basically pretend to be an FY in AMU for 30 mins)
I accidentally prescribed a 500ml bag of fluids to go in over 3 days... how's your day going?
I still feel like im in some sort of fever dream. I remember opening my email and seeing this message from GUAP and instantly deciding issa SCAM so just left it there 👀👀👀😂🙃
Thanks
@GUAPMAG
for reaching out via insta as well 1/
So… I just came across this account
@nhsdirtysecrets
aaaaaannnd wow.
Of course they’re followed by some of medtwitter’s finest.
If you and yours find yourself suddenly blocked, you know why 😘🍾
When you're being introduced in a meeting and the person you have never met pronounces your name perfectly.... 🥺🥺🥺
It's actually so easy not to be wayward
Certain groups - **read as Black people, women in particular** - in society know very intimately how “kindness” or “niceness” can be weaponised against them. This sort of language is a tool of oppressors to silence any dissent. 3/?
This nurse has decided my 3 syllable name is too difficult to remember. Their name begins with an L.
Tweeps, can y’all give me ideas of names beginning with L I can call them for the rest of the shift. Tenks xoxo 😘
In 2018 I am going to choose a random white family’s home and move in with them.
I am going to claim the master bedroom and ban them from speaking anything other than Yoruba.
“Would you do a job as a care worker for £18,000 a year?” asks
#BBCLauraK
Rishi Sunak replies “The job I’m doing is making a difference to the country as prime minister”
If there is anywhere in the country that SHOULD have adequate sickle cell services, SOUTH LONDON should...
I dont understand... When I was a student at SGUL, we had a whole day on sickle cell in FIRST YEAR.
This treatment is wilful anti-blackness
So my sister went to
@KingstonHospNHS
yesterday afternoon with a Sickle Cell crisis, wasn’t admitted until this morning and was crying due to the pain, only for a Doctor to say she’s crying because she’s trying to score narcotics.
Why do posh London boys ALWAYS use the word "bare" when they're trying to prove to you they're not ***that*** posh 🙄. I see right through you Maximilian Percival Poncey-Smith IV 👀👀👀
Hi all,
I have been notified about the situation with the SJT practice papers
Please be reassured that
@BMAstudents
are on it!
If you would like to log your concerns, please reply to this post or contact your local rep.
BW,
Kayode (Deputy Chair - Education)
I’ve had conversations with private schools educated people who are vehemently against widening participation/access schemes when their whole education has been one widening access scheme paid for by their parents.
This is a very wicked ruling… ruining somebody’s life based on he said - she said…
Are you kidding me???
The patient clearly (for whatever reason) had a vendetta against Dr P… where is the complaint against the consultant???
I woke up this morning with an overwhelming sense of peace. 2.5weeks of F2 left and then no more medical ward cover.
From now on, it’s just surgery all the way. 🥹🥹🥹🥹
Too many nurses have attempted to SBAR me today cos I’m wearing scrubs.
Maaaaaateeeee I don’t think I’ve ever yelped , “im a medical student “ so quickly I my life 😂😂😂
Big day. Good day. Teaching EDI to first year med students today. All I’m gonna say is… gen z? Nah you man are ON IT. Next generation of medicine is in safe hands.
@Oloni
you're not wrong at all. no lies were told lol. he probably wasnt in the studio when Bey was referencing Naomi and Lupita. The final release must've caught him by surprise
Medicine is very wild... you read about a procedure, may practice on a dummy, watch someone else do it and then you’re the one doing it.
Anyone else frazzled by this?
Ignore the spelling mistake buuut... yeah... making a difference one person at a time. All it takes is a simple conversation and your previously unwashed friends will begin to wash their legs. 🥺😭😭
@kelechnekoff
anyhoo... we have to stan PAs tbh. They joined the NHS and were met with lots of hostility . But my Gs just minded their own business and advocated for themselves, didnt trash-talk other HCPs. Look at where they are now. 😍😍😍😍
Hi all, my name is Kayode and I am this year’s
@BMAstudents
@TheBMA
MSC deputy chair for Education. In the next few weeks, I will be attending a meeting with representatives from the UKFPO and the Medical Schools Council 1/
So…
#UKMedTwitter
, while y’all are focusing on donut doc, everyone’s fave is threatening to use X-rays to “verify” asylum seekers’ ages… 👀😬
It is well.
I hope y’all are starting to connect dots that people’s Med Twitter hot takes are not benign. They have real life consequences for patients.
Not commenting on any specific situation but if the shoe fits? Prance henny.
