I put up a page on my website listing my various contacts and places I exist online in case anyone wants to keep in touch with me outside of this place
I'll try to remember to keep it updated
bought a couple of GBA carts on ebay and the seller threw in this weird unmarked one, said they picked it up on vacation and it was a game they'd never seen anywhere else
โThe cat be unemployedโ phrase and cat image is from an illegal rat poison being used in china town in 2011, and this phrase and image is a big and enduring inspiration in my life

trending thanks to every far right dickhead online simulposting the same video from Koch brothers-funded disinformation outfit Project Veritas so lemme clear this one up for you
its pretty funny to contrast corporate behemoth crunchyroll giving this half arsed treatment to the world's most popular anime against like Discotek painstakingly restoring lost materials for a mecha show from 1972 called Metal Robo Bajollocks that 2 guys are really excited for
Episodes 75, 80, 82, 92, 99, 105, 106, 142, 157, 159, 161, 168, 169, 172, and 178 all use the cropped footage from the much maligned Orange Boxes. To make matters worse, they've taken the 16:9 crop and then squished it to 4:3. Circles are now ovals... Fun!
found a rich vein of absolutely bizarre and incoherent books on amazon, can't figure out if they're written by a human or a bot. they've broken my brain even more than usual
i think i might have to do a thread on these later but for now please enjoy this excerpt
its reached the point that people are trying to get me to advertise on this tweet so let me just say that you can get all those projection lights and dildos on aliexpress for cheaper and you don't need to lose weight
okay of all the bullshit that went on between sega of america and japan this is maybe the funniest
america thought sonic was so shit and unmarketable they wanted to get the fucking california raisins guy to teach japan how to design good characters
okay the biggest thing i took away from this is that in spite of all the eidos stuff they jettisoned, Square Enix STILL owns Gex?! They got rid of Tomb Raider, they got rid of Crystal Dynamics themselves but they kept this little green bastard
It's tail time.
#GexIsBack
GEX returns through the science of the Carbon Engine in GEX Trilogy. We'll have more details to share in the future ๐ฆ

british reactionary politics has a really long history of making a big deal out of things that don't really happen or barely happen at all and nobody with any reach (even their alleged political opponents) ever really challenges their assertions
TERFs have been lying for years about the "thousands" of children being put on "irreversible" treatments that weren't actually irreversible.
And now we learn... it's less than 200. And the vast majority of them are 15 or over.
hey hi i finally finally released my now-playable dumps of vast fame's elusive GBC fighting games!! this release is like... 12 years in the making and these games are good shit you should check them out
ah, 16 fine games for my Game Boy portable entertainment system
Number 1, "Revoling Cubes", hm, never heard of it but I'm sure it's fun
Now let me take a big mouthful of coffee and read the next entry on the list
don't circulate bullshit like this please
these are just normal fucking vans that are locked because they have tools/equipment inside
hoaxes like this literally get people killed
It's honestly huge that Tim Stamper is showing off some of the stuff from his time at Rare & it's driving me nuts that people are treating him like some common hoarder because he didn't immediately release a fucking ROM
i think i found the secret best thing in the gameboy leaks. first, here's Golf King, a straight localisation of a Japanese golf game. your golf coach is a pleasant old man called Bobby who believes in you
thinking about how the US video game crash is used to justify console lockouts based on the narrative that the crash was caused by a flood of poor third-party software, and yet the two games held up as being the shittiest and most disappointing were both in-house atari
the fakest little cartridge
no components inside or even bridged pins, no actual contacts in the cartridge slot, it just presses switches inside the console
came across this 1992 entertainment weekly article about how japanese games get changed for the US and they even approached the publishers for comment
i'm all about this last one
i like when aliexpress lists all the completely made up brands on its site like theyre real and i'm gonna be going oh hell yeah gotta get me that Gdgydh or RoyaDong
i don't mean to slag off will vinton at all btw he was a very talented guy
but it just speaks to the cluelessness of execs throughout history that they saw what would become one of the most iconic character designs ever and went "no we need something with more noid energy"
Arcade games are somewhere the conventional online approach to VG history falls flat imo. People expect a formalised, documented and advertised "release" like with home games & maybe in JP and US you had that but the reality in much of the world was fairly ad-hoc distribution
If you take wikipedia or mame as gospel, Cosmo Gang: The Puzzle definitely did not release outside of Japan or the US
Here's a an imaginary UK magazine reviewing the arcade game in 1993. The time I saw & played it was maybe just a hallucination too?๐ค๐
