Incredibly, 34 years ago today we threw open the gates of The Valley to the fans for the #ValleyCleanUp …I remember when we discussed doing this at a #cafc Board meeting. It has become an iconic part of the ‘Back to The Valley’ story & I’m proud to have been part of it.

I’m sorry to hear the news that #BenGarner has left #cafc after just 6 months in the role. I enjoyed chatting to him at the @CAFCTrust #HouseofLords awards evening & then again last Thursday at the #30BackatTheValley Dinner. I wish him good luck with his next career move.

I’ve just heard the sad news that legendary #football commentator #JohnMotson , who I have known since my early days in football, has died aged 77. John gave me a signed copy of his book ‘Motty’s Years’ in 2005 & he hosted the launch of the #CAFC Centenary DVD for me. RIP John

I think it's fair to say 'nothing surprises me' but when Charlie Methven called to invite me last July to 'come back' to #cafc to use my experience to help him & his colleagues, I was totally surprised but delighted to accept. It's been tough but I'm very optimistic about 24/25.

Congratulations to my former #cafc colleague Paul Geary on the presentation made to him today to mark his 29 years of fantastic service as the club’s groundsman at Sparrows Lane. Paul is leaving CAFC soon to take up a position away from football. He’ll be a hard act to follow.
