A win is a win, but if I’m Denver, I treat this like a loss. Lakers really figured something out putting Hachimura on Jokic. That’s one of those somewhat small adjustments that can win a series.
If you’re a nuggets fan, of course you love winning. But how do you feel when the star player is upset that he has to stick around town a couple extra days to celebrate with you ?
Great win by Jokic and Nuggets… but Timberwolves mostly definitely should walk out that arena knowing that they got the Nuggets attention and Respect!!!
The broncos just benched:
3,070 yards
26 TDs
8 INTs
66% comp
98 passer rating
Because their defense couldn’t stop Bailey Zappe, DeVante Parker, and the 3-11 Patriots at home
Joel Embiid with one of the great statement games in recent memory going off for 47, 18 and 5 against Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets 😤
The skill, shot making, power, versatility, fire and aggression is absurd. Best big man in the game today.
Nearly every question the media asks Jokic is about his personal accolades and he’s sick of answering them. Not caring about these isn’t the same as not caring about basketball or winning. Crazy how fans have lumped these things together
For anyone who was bothered by Jokic’s reaction after he won the NBA Finals, please watch this. English is his second language and just because his reaction was different than previous winners, it doesn’t mean he’s apathetic
Dwight:
“I didn’t shoot 3s”
“I didn’t do post moves I just dunked”
“I only got points and rebounds”
Dude just accurately described why he isn’t even near Jokic’s level 💀
Dwight Howard on his prime compared to Nikola Jokic;
"I was getting 38 and 20, 45-18, 19, 20, and I'm doing all this with twos. No threes, all twos. I'm doing this with lobs. I'm not getting a lot of post-up attempts like Jokic. He's getting way more opportunities."

This shot by Jokic vs. the Lakers will be remembered as the shot that made Lebron consider retirement and later compare himself to a flaming ball of gas in the sky
I’m not exaggerating when I say this play was a guaranteed fumble-six the last 2 seasons with Russ. Bo Nix had no right avoiding a sack here, he is him

and the NBA will donate $5 to drive assists off the court and improve youth-serving programs during key NBA moments.
Nuggets won the WCF by a combined 24 points. Jokic is amazing but we lost because the others led by Murray played above their pay grade. Repeating is tough and those teams usually face fatigue and injuries. The Lakers did enough to build a team that should be right there again.
Nikola Jokic has some Celtics fans believing that the NBA rigged it so the small market Nuggets would upset the Celtics in Boston & break a historic streak
We made it
I know this was taken in Sombor, Serbia so obviously there are gonna be people in Jokic jerseys, but the idea of Denver Nuggets jerseys popping up all over the world now is surreal
Amount of playoff series won without an All-Star teammate-
James Harden: 6
Damian Lillard: 3
Kevin Durant: 2
Kawhi Leonard: 2
Anthony Davis: 1
Kyrie Irving: 1
Stephen Curry: 1
Winner.
“A lot of hate and division”
-the player who just spent 12 hours sending toxic tweets simply because some NBA fans showed support for a player that’s not from the USA
Lets talk about the fan culture that’s been created recently. A lot of huge egos who believe they are the reason for the advancement of a sport. ALOT of idol worship, a lot of hate and division based off wins and losses, a lot of disrespect of the work being put in by these
Can’t be that mad at him. If I forced my way out of a franchise and the player that replaced me took my number, was 3x the player I ever was, and then won a championship & finals MVP, I’d probably make up lies to cope about it too
Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix talks the Denver Nuggets media gripe.
"they're just not a compelling team to talk about - to write about"
Worth noting that
@SIChrisMannix
and his cohort are compelled by attention. And financial return. They peddle NBA sugar, not basketball.
It’s hilarious how Sixers fans pretend they didn’t go out of their way to attack Jokic for 3 years because he won awards instead of Embiid. But because Nuggets fans retaliated they have no “class”
I know it’s not all about Jokic as a person but I think his dominance on the court definitely frustrates players. This instance probably has more to do with the dumpster fire of the clippers
@NikolaJokicJPN
Think it might be related to bones this game or just general anger at being 0-6 after the harden trade. Probably the last time they come against the Nuggets in this tourney so idk if it’s that
If you’re a nuggets fan, of course you love winning. But how do you feel when the star player is upset that he has to stick around town a couple extra days to celebrate with you ?
Since people are once again convinced Jokic “doesn’t care about basketball” I think it’s a good time to bring back this interview w/ Serbian media.
Jokic trolls American media all the time & it’s shocking how many people don’t realize it
Nikola Jokic has never attempted 20+ free throws in his entire career. His high in one game is 18. He’s only been above 15 seven times.
He’s played in 688 total games
Has there ever been a more protected/downplayed sweep than the Nuggets beating the Lakers in the 2023 WCF?
The Lakers didn’t win 1 game. And no the Lebron injury is not some sort of series-defining excuse. Jokic and Murray also had injuries but they didn’t make it a narrative
Look… It’s All-Star weekend, we’re here to have a good time & all… But if you watch this game & truly think that J*kic is the best player in the NBA, you have real problems
Jokic is like the antithesis of how some people view the NBA. He loves the game and is better than everyone else at it but he can’t stand being idolized for personal success
We’ve never seen someone like him and national media is unsure how to market him
All the Nuggets starters are listed as questionable for tomorrows game against Philadelphia:
AG- right heel strain
Jokić- left hip strain
KCP- right cervicothoracic strain
Murray- bilateral tibia inflammation
MPJ- left knee inflammation
Every Nuggets coach and player, all summer: “The Lakers stink!” “They were the easiest series!” “We took the Lakers down!” “We OWN the Lakers”
Lakers on media day: “Yeah we heard them talking all summer, we look forward to competing”
Nuggets: “lmao! Rent free!”
Suns players seriously asked the refs to review Nurkic elbowing Jokic in the face as if the call would be reversed (it got upgraded to a flagrant). We’ve really seen it all tonight
Lakers fans will closely monitor likes on a Nuggets’ social media post from June, then look you in the eye & say the Lakers live rent free in Denver’s head
@DwayneCamacho88
They don’t have to go through the wolves if they win this one is the thing. They definitely still choked away a great opportunity in game 7 regardless
Their obsession with us is crazy bro, I really hope everyone on the Lakers including Bron & AD is hearing this bullshit. Cuz when Bron comes back around healthy and we get rid of D-Lo your franchise will be on their knees asking us for forgiveness
In bed thinking about when Aaron Gordon went 27-7-6 on 73% shooting in game 4 of the NBA finals. One of the more underrated performances in Nuggets history
