So, this is my sleeping spot for tonight. The manager of the Canadian Tire saw me in the parking lot and invited me in. So, super safe and warm for the night. Huge thank you to Dana!

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen forecasted waves at 28 and 24 feet on Lake Ontario and Erie. Combine that with the seiche effect of a surge of 10 feet in Fort Erie and we have a recipe for disaster if this verifies.

Made it home (and my daughter made me a gift 🥹). It’s an Xmas miracle! Actually, it’s thanks to the hard work of all the dedicated people in Niagara working so hard to clear the roads and providing all the needed emergency services.

So. After my brother sent me a bunch of storm pics yesterday ( he’s in Brockville) he then sends me this one today. After my mild heart attack, I told him that yes, that was a dangerous storm!

I try not to overhype storms, but I want everyone to take this Christmas storm seriously. Panic is not what I’m after, just sensible caution.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! I’m a little down because I’m not going anywhere soon, but I’m going to be just fine. This is why I pack all the gear I do. I did forget my Santa hat though. 🎄🎄🎄

have pushed me behind my limits and I’ve come down with a nasty flu. Sleep and rest is now critical before I head home. Thanks for all the support and watching of our coverage!
I’m not sure if this is the most Canadian or Scottish thing I’ve ever seen. Someone is out on their boat playing the bagpipes on the lake. And the whole lake cheers every time he finishes a song.

Made it back to my safe spot of the Canadian Tire parking lot. Even a 100 m drive is super difficult in these conditions. Ft. Erie.

My heart goes out to all of those who had to abandon their cars and get to shelter on Christmas Eve. There were literally dozens and dozens of cars on my trek from Ft Erie to Niagara Falls.

I want to know if everyone is ok.

OMG! The best thing just happened. I was stopped in Perth sending footage back and a fan stopped and handed me a DQ ice cream! Thank you so much and I wish I’d caught your name!

I’ve never been to the Grotto at Bruce Peninsula National Park so I was absolutely floored by the beauty of the area. And to top it all off, the weather was more like July than October.

Current view from a Troopers car in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Current conditions outside of Cheyenne are -18 with zero visibility.

The scene in the grocery stores in Halifax now. The storm chips are gone (no surprise there!) but stock is good and restocking is ongoing. Everyone is taking this seriously, but not panicking. You Maritimers all rock!

If you are driving around Elmira, Elora, etc, please remember, you WILL be sharing the road with the local Mennonite community as they cannot use the shoulders as they normally do. Be safe out there!

Toronto, this line is coming right at you. This isn’t one to fool around with. Low chance of tornadoes, but straight line winds are significant. Take shelter now!

Wow! I just hit 50k followers! I cannot thank everyone enough and I’m humbled that this many people are interested in what I have to say. Thank you thank you thank you!
Made it home to be greeted by a very happy Hobbes. That was a long haul of hurricane intercepts. Whew.
Nice to be back. Next up, the gales of November.

If I didn’t know this was Ontario, I’d swear that I was seeing a shot from Bali. That water is coooold. At Bruce Peninsula National Park.
