@NovaMBB there is no culture in college basketball like Villanova. No one plays the same exact way with the same effort game in and game out than Villanova. Maybe Houston 2nd but they are DEFINITELY first!!!

Duke is obviously terrific and could win it all but one thing Coach K has learned about coaching all freshman is they don’t understand guarding other good players!!! Never had to before. Also when they need to score in the halfcourt all bets are off.

If transfers are eligible immediately it will be one of the worst things to happen to College Basketball. Players are being recruited off other teams now. Imagine then! Can you transfer up until classes start? Kids will be leaving in September! Ridiculous

I don’t get it! Kerry Kittles was suspended for 3 games at the end of his sr season for using a phone card illegally. We were hottest team in nation when it happened. Never quite got mojo back. How are all these guys not even missing a game? Btw he paid the bill and still sat.

My personal experience. The yr before I was a high school coach in the Bronx .Had a get together at my house to watch the Final 4 in 1984. I remember saying “ what I wouldn’t give to have a ticket to the Final 4!” The next year I’m on the bench next to coach mass!! Unbelievable

I remember when Coach Mass took our staff 2 a little Italian restaurant in Norristown Pa. 2 have lunch with Tommy Lasorda. Lunch turned into an 8 hr eat and drink fest. The only time in my life I went 4 lunch and had dinner too without moving. Memorable and funny day. RIP

Officials in @StJohnsBBall @SetonHallMBB game took a long time at monitor trying to figure out how to get out of that predicament. Easiest and best thing would have been to go to arrow which would have given ball to St. John’s . They were praying seton hall would miss shot.

My daughter Kristen interviewed Bill Clinton for the documentary she is working on. Ironically she first met him when she was 9 yrs old! He came to our locker room in 1996 after our game against Georgetown in 1996.

Its amazing how successful coaches can make it through scandals that would most certainly claim the career of anyone else. Everyone at Ohio St. should be appalled by how a domestic abuse case was handled. Who would want to be associated with a wife beater let alone employ one?

Tom Konchalski one of the most special great people in basketball. Was involved in one of the top moments in my life when he called me to tell me I was being inducted into the NYC Basketball HOF. Remembers little things about D2 players he evaluated 30 yrs ago!!!! What a memory!

Coach Mass put a major wrinkle into our zone the day before the game. He was such a great coach that he taught our players 2?be x and o guys. They could make adjustments easily because they viewed the game as coaches. We had probably 50 variations we could do. This was 51!

I remember when Kobe would come play with our guys at night when camp was on. He was 16 and more then held his own on the court with my guys and some were PROS!! I never watched cause it wasn’t allowed!!lol. We recruited him hard but ultimately had no shot! Great kid ! Rip Kobe!

Just like St Johns hired the only Coach they could 2 get the program right so is DePaul in a similar situation. All the names mentioned r terrific coaches but only 1 guy can for sure get them right!! First call for me Bob Huggins! Very similar 2 hiring of Pitino. The only lock!

In retrospect the worst thing for @VUCoachJWright and @NovaMBB was to see a “system “ oriented team in the early going. @umichbball do what they do day in and day out with precision. Young guys heads were spinning. On the other hand great lesson. They will be better for it!

Today at 1 est @CBSSportsCBB @NovaMBB @GeorgetownHoops 1985 National Championship game. Greatest upset ever though we on the inside starting with Coach Mass never thought so! 2 games that year a 2 pt home loss and 7 pt road loss that was 2 pt game in the final minute!

That night at the celebration in Coach’s suite we’re having an unbelievable time and I decide to smoke my first cigar of my life which was dumb! I got sick and we had to leave at 2 am and they partied all night! My wife will never forgive me for cutting that night short!!! Lol
